A really weird and annoying issue - a lot of my incoming text messages are shown as coming from the wrong person, semi-randomly, and replies also often end up in the wrong threads. 

 

I have reflashed the OS image, no help.

 

Any ideas?

Moreupon this issue where "Tracker database" appearsto get corrupted here:http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=84093&highlight=sms+malfunction&page=3

Symbian specialist until 31/01/2013 with interests in Maemo & MeeGo but an aversion to Windows!

Go the Nokia Care and ask for a complete reflash... Or do it yourself if you know what you are doing.
It's the only way to solve it.

OK, is a "complete"reflash more than just the normal firmware reflash? Already did that, did not work.

Is this a common issue? I have an N9 in the mail, but this could be a serious problem for me. Should I start the return paperwork now?

Yeah, it's different. You need to reflash deleting and reseting all the data.

OK... I thought I did that by reflashing the firmware - after that I had to restore all data (and applications) from backup.   Perhaps the backup contains teh corrupted database as well?
