hi,
just bought my N900, just 2 quesitons :
1. reading a web page, and when you zoom in, do you guys know how to make the text / content auto fit the screen so we dont have to scroll right and left ?
2. official firmware upgrade for mms yet ?

1. The N900 was designed to view the web as you would on a desktop computer. I admit it is a bit of a jar to view a zoomed in web page, but it impresses the birds. And just look at that lovely Flash missus. ![]()
You could try downloading fAPN and creating a WAP connection to see if that picks up a mobile version of sites, but it's gonna look ugly. I think that was Nokia's reasoning for using such a high res screen. To make viewing web pages easy with the minimum amount of zooming in.
As with MMS. Have you tried fMMS from the "Extras devel" repository in App manager?
Hopefully MMS will be integrated at some time, either in 1.2 or Meego. But fMMS is a good stop gap until that time.

1. Usually a double-tap on the area you want to soom in on will blow that up to fit the screen. But it doesn't work perfectly with all sites and sometimes you may still have to do some side-to-side scrolling.
2. MMS is an old technology that will probably be slowly phased out by all manufacturers. Very likely it will never be a native capability in Maemo or MeeGo. Install fMMS if you feel you have to have it.
