how to connect 3g with N9
cant find signal, even though i use 'dual' mode

Can you verify that your operator has 3G available at the location where you are?

Also check that you not in flight mode (airplane picture at the top of the display)?

Once when powering on my phone, I  bypassed the SIM code entry, which put my external networking off. (I think WLAN still worked).

 Other than these, the connection should be either automatic, or by selecting from the connection/sound volume/bluetooth menu, which you get by touching the top of the screen.

what country are you trying to use the phone in?

If you are in the US I had a similar problem, all the US phones connect to 3G by default no configuration needed, but N9 was a bit different. I ma on T-Mobile US, got my N9 went to store, acquired a new Micro SIM, popped into my N9, couple of seconds later, it says T-mobile, can make calls, but wait what no 3G??

So heres what I did,

Go to Settings-->Internet Connection

Swipe on Internet Connection

Touch Connect to internet, click on T-Mobile web2go (maybe something else in your case), viola you have 3G now (mine says 3.5 not sure why)

Then touch/click Edit networks and make sure you mark your 3G internet connection as 'Automatic'

you can also check your apn in the settings of your T-Mobile web2go and be sure the apn is

epc.tmobile.com

Any one know how to use as wifi hot spot the n9. Can't find anywhere gsmarena says it's capable. it Works great in usa on tmobile. Faster than friends htc one xand every other phone except slll

Am here in Oman. I've been use my Nokia N9 for 1 year but i dont know how to set up the 3g and why i cannot download an application for Whatsapp or or any applications... I want to know why??? I really feel disappointed coz i cant use this if i want to use for chatting or video calling... Can anybody help me how to set up 3g or to down load whatsapp....
