I don't know if there's a JVM already on the N9. There may be. As for .exe files, they're Windows executables so totally incompatible with the N9, which is a MeeGo device. Trying to install them on the N9 is like trying to put a square peg in a round hole. It won't work.

Think that the official answer is that MeeGo's intended development environment is Qt.

That does kind of make sense but it would surely contribute to the success of the device if it did have a MIDP/JVM and was therefore compatible with a whole wealth of software already out there.

Other operating systems besides Windows also use the .exe file extension for application executables. E.g., Symbian does (they'd be inside the .sis/.sisx installation file, though, but as the app is being installed the .exe files are extracted to the file system for use).

Re: how to install .exe applications and the java on my n9

Is it stil not possible to install java applications on N9?

Files containing JAD and JAR-ending in the file name.

I am not familiar with Nokia N9 so I ask even if I suppose that JAR and JAD files are not able to install on a Nokia N9.

I guess not, or is it possible to install JAR and JAD-files?
