I have a POP3-account, which I synch manually. Very often, about ever 10th-20th time, the mail app freeze while synching. The only way to restore it is to reboot the phone. That means, that even if the deleted mails are gone at the phone, they are still not deleted in the mail account, and I have to go through them and delete them again.
How do I avoid this happen?

Nature of POP is when you delete an email in your device, it should do the same on the server (vice versa) because it doesn't create a copy unless the settings of the email is configured (or is possible to be configured). Try to check the settings of the email account then using a PC.

- Have you tried resetting up the email (delete the account then add it again)?
- What connection are you using?
- Does it only happen to that POP3 account? Have you tried setting up other email account in your device and check if it does the same?
- Have you updated your device recently? If no, check if the WP7.8 is already available for your phone and update if yes using the Zune software. Once updated, try Step 1 and observe if it made any difference.

1. I tried re-adding the email account, without any difference.
2. Usually 3G-connection.
3. I have no other POP3-account to test, but when I'm home I connect to it with my computer instead of my phone, and there is never a problem. Note that I'm not trying to synch with both my phone and my computer simultanously, when I use the phone the computer is off.
4. Due to Zune I am updated. I still haven't been offered WP7.8.
