Hi, I've had my Nokia Lumia 610 for 5 months, after the first few days of using Hotmail, I stopped using it.

I reopened it a few days ago to synchronize, and I get the errorcode: 8501001D, last updated "about 5 months ago", and I can't update the Hotmail, and having to use the internet explorer to access hotmail.

You say you stopped using Hotmail.  -    How did you do that?

You can't just turn it off.

I stopped using it on my phone, just on my PC.

How did you make the phone stop syncing to hotmail?

You can't just turn it off.

If the account was deleted that may be your problem.

I don't know, that's what I'm trying to find out.

I didn't open Hotmail on my phone once in a few months, I open it a few days ago, and when it was synchronizing, it gave me that error, saying it hadn't synchronized in "about 5 months". The account is my main email account, the same one I registered to this site with, and it works on Internet Explorer + on my PC.

Gives me the same Error code.

Hi, I keep getting the same error code whern trying to sync to my work Exchange account.  

Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

Try these steps:

Resync your Hotmail/Live account.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Tap Email+Accounts.
3. Tap and hold your Live/Hotmail account.
4. Select Sync.

If it doesn't work, reset your password on this link http://account.live.com then perform these steps:

1. Go to Settings.
2. Tap Email+Accounts.
3. Tap your Live/Hotmail account.
4. Then mark off the option of mail synchronization.
5. Reboot your phone and then activate the email sync again.

If the above steps will not work, clear your history by doing these steps:

1. Open Internet Explorer (on phone)
2. Tap (...) then go to Settings.
3. Select Clear History.

Also, check that your server is "m.hotmail.com"
