Nokia Lumia 820 MMS - "Can't send message - try again"

Hi there,

Partner has just got a Nokia Lumia 820 on Orange pay as you go, and cannot send photos. She has checked all the settings, and used the details on the Orange website to populate the fields for MMS setup. In addition, we have tried using the EE details and that doesn't work either. She has 'mobile data' switched on, and has tried switching the phone off and on.

For such an expensive phone, we are quite frankly astounded that this doesn't work - and that we can't find any advice on how to resolve this issue.

Thanks in advance, KieronKieron

Mobile network settings let you control the cellular data connection for your phone. An Access Point Name (APN) is the address your phone uses to connect the internet through your operator network. On the first startup Internet and MMS settings are read from the SIM if available.

Try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. If the data connections are really lost you might try reconnecting by switching Flight mode on and back off (Settings > Flight mode). This will reset the active data connection.
  2. If you have a known WiFi network running in the background, this may trigger the WiFi network connection to be established. Then you may need set the WiFi networking off (Settings > WiFi).

If the above steps doesn't solve your concern, may we know if you encounter any error message when trying to send MMS?

If this has helped you, a click of appreciation on the Star or "Accept as Solution" button would be considered as "Thank You".
