I'm at the end of my tether here, Nokia keep refering me to Yahoo and Yahoo keep refering me to Nokia, what a shambles.
As you can plainly see, because I can write this post I'm logged in. Now when I try and access my inbox all I get is a Yahoo! sign in box asking me to verify my password after briefly, for a split second seeing my inbox. I verify the correct password, and once again I see my inbox breifly before I get taken back to the Yahoo! verify password box. This box shows my *******@ovi.com email addy (starred out characters is my username - obviously) and just asks for my password.
Fortunately I can still access my email through Yahoo's mobile site on my phone and the PC, which seems a little bizarre.
I don't want to delete my .ovi account and start again, I've had it for donkeys years, it is known by all who know me and I'm rather attached to it. However my faith in Nokia and Yahoo! are being severly tested by this issue that has taken up far too much of my spare time in the past few weeks. Please help,I'm currently waiting for Nokia's latest annoydyne response, after finally being able to get in here with the help of a Yahoo! person on their chat facility.
I enclose a screen shot of the very annoying 'log in box" box that reappears time after time, I know it has my email addy clearly in view TBH I don't care I just want this sorting so I have provided all the information I can.

Hi dynomot,
Can you log in from https://www.nokiamail.com/ in a computer browser?
As I understand it, Yahoo! webmail has made changes to strengthen security, so going through the Yahoo logon pages with an OVI mail address is no longer working.
Over the years, the most reliable place for me to access and maintain my OVI/Nokia account information and access the rest of the OVI/Nokia cloud services has been through logon to http://maps.nokia.com

Nope, https://www.nokiamail.com/ logs me in, I see my inbox very breifly before being asked to verify my password , just as I decribed.
I've tried every log in of Ovi, Nokia, and Yahoo! I can. I canuse "My Yahoo", and all other services that I've tried, seemingly logged in just not mail.

Your situation is different from mine, I never used My Yahoo and I never created a login seal or confirmed my OVI/Nokia account information with Yahoo - trying to do so has always got me stuck somewhere between the Nokia and Yahoo websites, and cause me to be logged out.
Poking around the Nokiamail webmail settings during the weekend with my @ovi.com address shows the same odd behavior as it did 6 months ago, so I concluded that the best English word is deprecated for the Nokia/Yahoo email, and a hint that we should move on to the new Nokia/Microsoft email with the added bonus of having Microsoft Exchange functionality on an @outlook.com address.
Based on experience from different local Internet providers I expect POP3/SMTP access to my @ovi.com address for many months or years into the future, but nothing more than that.
I expect to be moderated in case I'm totally wrong in these conclusions.

I understand what your saying hpholm, but it's so annoying. My Ovi mail addy was, (and still is) my main email adress for lots of sites, accounts etc. What a pig to start again informing them all of my different email addy.
Support has never been Nokia's strong point, seems to have become worse with the arrival of the Windows man himself in September 2010 - now that I do expect to be moderated for !

Hi all,
I am sorry to hear that.
In order for us to help you, we would need your OVI mail address. You can contact us either via Nokia Care to by sending a private email to me.

I've done that svi78, and to be fair I had a lengthy chat with a Nokia person when they called me back.
I provided my email address and password (I was at the end of my tether, and there's nothing sensitive about my .ovi.com addy so I gave access to my account). They tried it and said everyrthing is working OK he even asked for my permission to read an (oviously) spam email aloud to me to prove it was working, and now because it worked for them they feel they cannot help any more and the case is closed.
I can still only access my Ovi mail through uk.m.yahoo.com/
Yahoo's! mobile site. I can do this via PC, any PC but out of the six PC's I've tried all with different isps I still get stuck in a feed back loop on any desktop Nokia or yahoo! site when I try to access my mail, and this is also true of my phone's web browser. It's a complete mystery. As I say I get a Yahoo! "Please verify your password" box, I verify, see my Nokia/ovi mail in box for around half a second before being taken back to the Yahoo "Please verify your password" page and box.
I and they (Nokia) donot understand why I am having this issue and seeing they can't repeat it (I wish I couldn't ! LOL) case closed.

Hi svi78,
If logging on directly to https://nokiamail.com/ then Yahoo! want me to change my @ovi.com address to a @nokiamail.com address (and select my birthday for marketing purposes).
If first logging on to https://account.nokia.com/ and selecting the "Nokia Mail and Nokia Chat powered by Yahoo!" link at the bottom of the page (= nokiamail.com) then I am in my familiar @ovi.com webmail inbox.
The IMAP/SMTP @ovi.com mailbox on the phone works as usual.
I'm just trying to understand what is going on - I don't use any email address for anything really important!

Well thanks to svi78, it now works properly.
Thank you, Nokia and this "Nokia Support Discussions" forum has improved my faith in Nokia as a whole no end.
