I received SMS but I am not able to open the message. And there is also no error message display. Same with sent messages. But I can read message through PC suits on my laptop.

Any body plaese help me.

Where are the messages stored? On phone mem or memory card? I too had the same issue. When i tried to open a message to read, nothing happened but on the Home screen where you see a new message notification, i could see the preview of the message. I store my messages on the memory card. It was as issue with the memory card. So i took a back of my contacts, calender, etc and then formatted the memory card. Also did a reset of the phone. Now it's working without any issues.

I change the message location from memory card to phone memory but stil facing the problem.

I also restore factory setting but still I am not able to open my SMS. One interesting thing that I can open SMS through Search:Internet & my contents. Please any one have solution.

SO what is NOKIA service going to do with all these SMS/EMAILS/MMS reading problem?
I had the same issues and those messages cannot be open.

But receiving and sending is functioning.

NOKIA SUPPORT !!! How to fix this?

Hi guys! Since yesterday my phone was also working perfect, but this morning all of a sudden it stopped showing me sms that I received, and its weird. I'm not able to send any sms as well. Emails are working perfect. Any solutions to it yet??

Hey guys!

I've solved this problem by formatting the memory card, I first took backup using nokia's content copier, then just formatted it. Now its back to normal.

(But the content copier didn't installed the applications I was using before, neither the sms messages, it just put all the folders back as they were in the memory card before, all the music files, pics, etc.)

I hope my post will help you guys somewhat. Enjoy using E71!

I am having the same problem with my 5233. The messages just simply refuse to open.

Tried soft reset, hard reset, reinstalled current software version and installed an update that was available today as well... Will I have to flash the software??????????
