T9 text message keyboar for Lumia

Can anyone tell me if the Lumia 800 has a standard text message keypad (instead of qwerty).. thinking of switching from android but I hate qwerty for texting.. (and my samsung android lets me use a T9 keypad)...

Cheers

Re: T9 text message keyboar for Lumia

Hi,

Unfortunately, English alphanumeric keypad is not supported by Nokia Lumia. You can give us a feedback so that Nokia will know what can be added by the next update. Check this Link to send your feedback.

Thanks!

Re: T9 text message keyboar for Lumia

I am a big fan of Nokia and had been using only Nokia phones ever since I started using mobiles. I have been using N series mobiles since it were launched. I feel alphanumeric keypad is absolutely essential and should be made optional (as in N8), the user should have the option of using whichever keypad he/she uses. My work requires lot of typing and I am damm comfortable using alphanumeric/T9 and not QWERTY. With my N8 device, I always use alphanumeric option. I have been planning to get Lumia 800/920, but the lack of alphanumeric keypad and secondary camera has deterred me from getting one.

Re: T9 text message keyboar for Lumia

hi mate,

I have a 920 and it is my first Windows Phone device. I have found that it is a bit of a learning curve at first, but now I am churning out texts at high speed, much much much higher than I was able to with the alphanumeric keypad of the N8 (which I was a fan of and was hesitant to part with). Trust me, you will find the built-in keyboard of WP excellent and it shouldn't be a deterrent from you purchasing any devices that you wish to.

A T9 from Nokia for Lumia phones would be much appreciated.
