Re: failure code 80070490

The error code does not only apply to email accounts not syncing. It also shows in Marketplace, in Windows PC and even in non-Nokia Windows Phones for most articles I found.

Have you tried rebooting the device? If yes, you may need to reset up the emails. While you can just tap and hold your Outlook email as there's an option to delete it, you will need to reset your device so you can set up your Hotmail account again. Ensure to back up all your files before performing the reset; it will delete everything in your device.

Contacts are synced with your Windows Live account. Applications you downloaded from the Marketplace can be re-downloaded. For media files (music, videos, pictures), you can use the Zune software to sync/transfer them into your PC. Text messages cannot be backed up but you may copy then paste them to OneNote that will sync to Skydrive along with other Documents (PDF, MS Excel, Word, etc).

To reset the device, go to Settings > About > Reset your Phone. Cheers.
