I am using Nokia C5-00. The Chat application in the phone stopped working all of a sudden.. When I open the chat, it asks for Get Available Updates.. and click of Ok it says No communinties available. What is the issue? how to get it working as before.

Hi guys,
We're sorry to hear about all the problems. There are a few things you can try:
Remove all your chat accounts/logins and add them again.
If the issue still persists, reset your device.
Before reseting, remember to make a backup of your phone with Nokia Suite.
Dial *#7780# to soft reset your device, this will return the phone to factory settings without removing any personal data. If this does not solve the issue, hard reset your phone.
Dial *#7370# to hard reset your device. Hard reset will remove all settings and personal data off the phone, so remember to backup your data first.
When prompted for the security code, default code in both cases is 12345.
Let us know if this helps,

I already have made hard reset, reinstalled the firmware 071.005 and the issue is still present.
You can't remove any account, this is what I get when I open the chat:
Select below to get the latest IM service experience and sign into your IM community.
"Get the latest IM service"
you can only press ok or exit
press ok and you get..
Checking for new IM updates
then...
No available communities.
ok and the chat closes.

I too am facing the same issue since today morning. What has been the cause for the issue is unknown.
In the morning I launched the chat application logged into my gtalk account and as I was starting to IM one of my frnd the chat application closed. When I re-luanched the chat application this is what I get ->
Select below to get the latest IM service experience and sign into your IM community.
"Get the latest IM service"
you can only press ok or exit
press ok and you get..
Checking for new IM updates
then...
No available communities.
ok and the chat closes.
Did a software update on my hadset. Tried to search for an chat application supported for my handset but the ovi store has none. It has 2 different ovi chat applications but none supports the handset. Please treat this as high priority matter. And a separate application at ovi store for this chat app would be beneficial if in future someone faces the issue.
Thanks

It is unbelievable that such a critical issue is still open one month after being raised! Wake up Nokia. My e63 has been demoted to become my secondary phone, can't rely on symbian any more.
