What harddrive model is in Booklet 3G? I know that it is Toshiba, that it is SATA HDD, that it is 1.8" and 4200rpm. And that the height is 5mm. Having consulted http://yertech.blogspot.com/2009/11/18-hdd-platter-capacity-model-list.html I've found out that the only model that suits the description is MK1235GSL.

From the photo it has quite standard connectors. How did they manage to solder it to Motherboard?

I'm sure this answer has been given, since this post is so old. But just in case it hasn't I wanted to weigh in.

The factory-installed HDD is in fact model MK1235GSL. Here's a pic of the backside of the one I installed from my new Booklet 3G when I installed the SSD.

yes....and if i could have gone back and fixed my posts...i would have.

i caught a quick glimps of it open and it looked solid to me...but since it wasnt mine, didnt get to to touch it.

there is antoher thread that goes over all this already and even i have changed out my hdd for an ssd.
