Nokia Booklet 'A' key not working properly

I'm really hoping someone can help me.

I just got a new Booklet 3G. Started t up and it all went fine except that the 'A' key is not working properly. It seems to select any text I have written. So if I type the word "Chocolate", I can get up to "Chocol". As soon as I press the A key, the Chocol gets highlighted and then with the next keystrike it is all deleted.

 

I can't seem to find anything about this on the net - maybe it is wired up wrong, but I wonder if it's some sort of shortcut/function that i have inadvertantly turned on (I didn't select anything whilst it was booting up.

 

Any one have any ideas? I'm in the UK and set up an English/UK keyboard.
