Whenever I try and open music player the app will not run, screen goes blank for a moment then returns to the menu

It will not play music files when you try and open them

I have updated the phone software and this has not worked

I am loathe to try a full factory reset and am looking for other ideas

I have similar problem. The Application works when I take out the memory card.

Does it have any fix.

Try formatting SD card. Put it your computer and format it.

if it works without your sdcard like macakraca says format the card with computer or your phone it doesnt really matter.

Try to reset factory defaults by using dis code.....*#7780#....

Take note that all phone contents will be wiped clean.
