I have loaded my x2 with music that I can listen to, but I want to use a tune as ringtone. When I go to tones the sect on music is empty. Why/

What is the file format of the music?

It is sometimes the case that phoens cannot use all filetypes that they can play as ringtones, thought the X2 should be fine with the common types like MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA and WAV.

Also, if the music files are protected by DRM, such as the WMA files from Ovi Music Unlimited, the DRM can prevent it being used as ringtones.

Hi have just spent hours trying to sort out how to use music as ringtones or text tones on the x2 I have just bought, and bingo ! if you go to profiles and then to my style 1 or 2 it allows you to use the mp3 music that the phone came with ( not just the naff ringtones ) you can also use as a text alert too , hope this helps , nearly took the phone back because I am so used to having my own music for a ring and text tone ( havn't tried it with my own music yet as I had to buy a usb lead as it wasn't supplied with the phone )
