For our second monthly award, we decided to honour the administrator of this community, Vandelay, who after many years working with Nokia Care is now leaving for a new position at Nokia.
Most members of Nokia Support Discussions will have noticed the presence of Vandelay throughout the forum, but here are a few things that you might not know:
Vandelay, otherwise known as Juha-Matti Heikkinen, was the project manager for Nokia Support Discussions since it was just an idea. The community was launched in November 2005, and it has grown into one of the world's most popular and successful corporately-owned customer support forums, now with over 400 000 registered members and over 2 million monthly visitors.
Before this, from 2002 onwards, he was managing the creation of www.nokia.com/support , starting from a blank sheet to a support site with over 250 million annual visitors.
In 2006, he was responsible for making Nokia’s software updates available at Nokia.com.
In 2009, he started the Nokia employee program in the community, now with about 140 members from various Nokia divisions globally and a hand-picked team of Technical Experts helping Discussions members.
Vandelay is the godfather of Nokia Care in Social Media, and has worked solidly as the customer's champion for ten years. The team salutes him and wishes him the best of luck as he embarks on the next leg of his long and successful career with Nokia.
Vandelay will be taking part in our Contributor of the month interview just as soon as we can pin down a slot in his busy schedule...
