I heard that it will improve the battery life and the quality of the sound of music player

Official date is as yet unknown. It's unlikely a date will be officially given to us before it's actually released.

All we can do for now is wait.

There isn't a Mailing list. As Psychomania said, it's a case of waiting until the update is released.

You should get a notification on your handset when there is an update available for it

I'm also in Singapore on Starhub and updated today, but my version is only 1600.2483.8106.11500.

Which operator are you on?

SingTel. I'm using Country Variant firmware; it's not tied to an operator.

On xda-developers several users from Singapore have reported that they received 12070 update.

Not for my phone, it advised me of an update this morning, and updated to 1600.2483.8106.11500. When I run the update manually in Zune or on the phone, I get 'no updates found'.

Updated my Lumia 800 today in the morning (India) via Zune. The new version is 1600.2487.8107.12070. I don't see much of difference in picture or sound as such. Let me fiddle around for few days and try to see the difference in the battery life. Hope it has improved...

Today i got official update via Zune. Till now, the camera seems to be same. The Bass output has been improved significantly. I will use phone heavily for few hours and hope the battery has been fixed.

Doesn't appear to have been released in Europe yet. All we can do is keep waiting, nothing can be said or done on this forum to make it appear any quicker.

Since I upgraded this morning, I noticed the following within an hour or so of playing with it:

• the three capacitive Buttons no longer light up at all.
• Speakerphone volume is still almost inaudible even when set to maximum. This renders Music Player and Nokia Drive useless.
• Battery life seems to be slightly better.
• Still cannot connect to Zune due to the location setting mismatch with my Windows Live account. So I cannot buy any content from Marketplace.
• Local Scout has zero content.
• Takes far too many button clicks to open a contact to make a phone call. (Slide up to open, type PIN, open People, Search, Type name)
• Calendar tile is always blank, even when there are appointments in there
• IM goes offline when the phone screensaver activates after 1 min.
• Keyboard sometimes will not appear when you click into a text box to type.
• Keyboard sometimes covers the 'OK' or 'Next button so you cannot proceed, as there is no 'Close Keyboard' button

This phone has maybe 10% of the functionality of my Android and iPhone 4S. I can't use it as my primary phone until these issues are resolved and the Marketplace has some apps in it that I can use.

Spawny_Whippet, are you taking about the new update (12070) that this thread is about or the old 11500 update you mentioned earlier?

If it's the old one please don't confuse this topic by taking about it as that update has been out over a month now. There's already several threads about it.

Just patched 12070 ware and it is brilliant. Battery discharge is now 70-80 instead of over 200 previously. Audio output is now audiophile standard very balanced top to bottom frequencies and on par with the awesome output of my previous e52. Cam has now got a few additional features and the white balanced is fix. The 3 buttons now all lit up and the auto brightness is more efficient. Screen shakiness is gone. I never had the problem of auto restarts so I cannot confirm if that's fixed. Overall excellent follow up from Nokia and my iPhone friends are now envious of the lumia 800 batt life. This bodes well for tethering and internet hotspot later this year.

Yes, after having used the 12070 fw for a few days I can confirm that the biggest improvement is the audio. It's brilliant now compared to the n9 and the iPhone. As for battery life: DON'T EXPECT ANY MIRACLES-quote from someone at xda that I share. What is stated in the diagnostics tool shouldn't be seen as an improvement because Nokia did say that the tool was wrong before, also they could've just tweaked it .. Anyway I say this because as you use the phone in 3G it will last you exactly the same time as before, the big improvemt is the standby time, now i only see the battery drop about 1-2 % per hour (with quite a few push services running and three emails) which is normal for a smartphone and which the lumia was capable of before but only on some days for me. On other days for me and many others it would just start draining rapidly for no reason, well this no longer happens. So if you don't use your phone that much then rejoice! You'll probably be able to squeeze two days easily out of it. But the 3G talk time remained the same.

Has the camera Zoom been sorted.. a zoom that jumps rather than zooms in slowly like all other phones and cameras do !

And the wireless connecton to zume.. this seems to be hit and miss.. and is caused when phone goes into screen save mode.. (after max of 5 mins)..
