Now matter how loud I have the ring volume set to (unless Im on vibrate), when I'm manually dialing a number, the sound made as I press each number on the dial pad is EXTREMELY loud.  I've looked for an answer but so far have found nothing on the subject.

go to settings then ringtones+sounds then un-mark "key press"

Thats a work around to completely stop it .. But it should get adjusted as per the Volume set which is NOT happening for the OP. On my Lumia 920 it reduces if the Main volume is reduced ..

 

@ motomofo -Did you try resetting the phone ?
