My brother just gave me an early Christmas present:  the Nokia Lumia 822 windows phone.  I am really psyched and have already added an additional 32 GB micro SD card.  The ability to add extra memory is a huge plus.  I then transferred 4 GB of music and lots of photos directly to the card.  I also imported my Contacts from Windows Live Mail.  So I am now ready to roll!

But before carrying the phone around in my purse, I would like a good case for the phone.  I have done about an hour's worth of searching on the internet for a cool case, but to no avail.  There seem to be very few available and the ones that are have no imagination. 

Does anyone know a good case retailer with some novel Lumia 822 cases or when Zazzle might be introducing cases for the Lumia 822?

I have been having the same problem.  I got the otter box defender when  I purchased it but it adds way to much bulk and the shadow it casts over the camera was really messing it up.  My Verizon store had another silicon cheap looking case too but I did not like it either.  I hope cases start coming out soon because from what I have seen there are only like 4 case options available for it and they all stink. Please let me know if you stumble across any other I options.

What 32 GB microSD card did you use? Was it new? Did it have files (word, excel, mp3?) on it before you inserted the card? If so, could you read the files? Did you format the card? Just looking for what experiences others have had.

My brother managed to get 2 32GB Sandisk micro SD cards at BestBuy for $27 each.  The one he installed on my Lumia 822 was completely blank.  I believe my brother created 3 directories on the micro SD card -- Music, Photos and Videos. I will ask my brother to update this post to explain how he transferred my music and photos to the phone.  I believe it involved connecting the phone to the computer.  Sorry -  I am a Windows phone noob!

Thank you for the reply.  I had tried Amazon but they only had a few.  Most of what they had were these wierd decalrus stick on things.  The rest were boring black leather.  I wanted something fun and hip.  I will try Amazon again, though to see if they have more.  I tend not to use ebay much anymore.  I move around a lot and they are so strict with their account policies that they locked me out once and I simply didn't feel like dealing with what they required to create a new account.  But it may be worthwhile to give it a shot again.

Per my brother -- he popped the back of the phone off, took out the battery, slipped micro SD card into slot and it clicked in, replaced the battery, replaced the cover.  Then turned phone on and it said, "I found an SD card.  Would you like to store all your music, video and pictures on it?" and he said, "Yes"  Then, he connected the phone to the computer via cable that came with phone.  We downloaded Windows 8 phone to the computer.  It said, "What music would you like to import to phone -- itunes library, xbox library or other locations?"  We said, "Itunes" and it copied pretty fast. 

I actually did the photo transfer but I can't remember how.  I had an iPad3 (purchased in June), a Surface RT (just purchased) and now this phone.  All these purchases were because my brother is in IT and wants to know how the devices work for his work. But it gets confusing to remember!

I returned my Defender.  Didn't like the plastic cover over my touchscreen.  I seemed to dull the beautiful colors.  I have the Verizon black skin.  Very sexy.  I also have the black/lime Triton.  Great, heavy duty, doesn't cover my touchscreen.  Yea, yea, yea - I know the plastic cover can be taken off of the Defender.  Still like my Triton better.

All I am looking for is a silicone, non-slip soft cover. The ones Verizon sells are worthless.

About a week or two ago, I ended up buying a soft silicone case from eBay for $6.49. No additional tax or shipping fees. It wasn't the lime green I had hoped for, but it is a pretty cool blue that looks almost as if its illuminated by light. It has a gel-y, rubbery feel, which is very satisfying. It fits the phone pretty well and the hidden buttons for on/off, volume etc work well. I was really hoping for a lime green case, but I can easily get one later, as thus blue case was so cheap. Also, Nokia has made available 3d printing of cases.

Thank you for the link.  That was incredibly helpful.  Trying to determine information for the cases on ebay is very difficult.  I bought a  Hard TPU Rear Matte Gel Skin Case.  I'm not sure what they consider hard because it was just a gel case.  I will go and look to find the Trident.
