In this blog post:
http://conversations.nokia.com/2012/12/19/us-and-c
Nokia says: "Because we’re committed to providing a fantastic experience to our Lumia 920 and 820 customers, we are releasing a software update that brings a number of enhancements initially to the Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 at AT&T in the United States and to the Lumia 920 at Rogers in Canada."
This is the 'Portico' update (1232.5951.1249.0001) and many Lumia 920 users in the US (AT&T) and Canada (Rogers) have been able to update their phones today (12/19) as seen in these pages -

I have a Lumia 920 and I'm an AT&T customer living in San Francisco, California, yet when I go to "Settings -> Phone Update -> Check For Updates." I get the update status:
"Your phone is up to date. Last checked 2 seconds ago"
When I check "Settings > System > About", it still says "Firmware revision number: 1232.2109.1242.1001"
I received this Lumia 920 at the Microsoft "Build" developers conference in Seattle last month.
Can someone at Nokia please enable the "1232.5951.1249.0001" update for 'Build' Lumia 920 phones?

The update started rolling out a day ago and you are already starting to complain? Be a man and come back here in a few days to let us know you have received the update..

I too am seeing this problem. I have two Lumia 920s. One from Build and the other is from ATT. The one from Build is not updating (getting the same message). The other one from ATT just updated yesterday. Both phones are on ATT.

I'm just curious on why I am not getting the update even though I am an AT&T customer in the US and other Lumia 920 users in the same situation are getting the update.
Why are you so aggressive? Did you forget to take your meds today?

The roll-out of the update will be throttled, Ehuna. Meaning, not everyone will get the update on the same time or day. You can always set your phone to notify you if an update is available for your device already by going to Settings > Phone Update. Cheers, mate!

Are the BUILD phones of the AT&T or the global variant? If the latter they will obviously update with the rest of those.

At the BUILD conference, Nokia and Microsoft gave them to developers and I then added the Lumia to my AT&T account.
Looking at Settings > About, I see "Carrier: Developer Device" - so even though I added it to my AT&T account, my Lumia is probably not considered an AT&T phone.
Does this mean, that these phones will only get the update in February?

why won't you "be a man" and admit you were wrong. this has nothing to do with when it started rolling out. as the title of the post says, this is about the dev kit phones handed out to Build attendees not getting the update.
next time try to be helpful instead

Can you give us a link to this "officially stated" by Nokia (the february thing I mean)? I only read it in WPCentral and was a bit "upset" about it but I've moved on. I guess, 3+ years of getting on time (same as everyoen in the world) updates from Apple has spoiled me a bit ... but then again, it was one of the reason I dumped my N8 2 years ago as well (not getting updates as everyone else). I see that Nokia still has not changed their ways in this aspect ... maybe I shouldn't blame Nokia because it probably involves MS as well .....

Any chance of an official Nokia reply to this post. I'm not from the US or Canada, so goodness knows when to expect the update. The point was that these phones were handed to developers at the premium Microsoft developer conference. I would expect that it is in Microsoft and Nokia's best interest to keep these phones updated.
What was the point handing them to developers if you're not giving developers access to the latest software?

Update will be released early 2013. No specific date yet but you can enable your phone's notification for software updates to be notified once it has been available for your device to download.
Settings>Phone Update> place a checkmark:

It is early 2013.
Why aren't unbranded, unlocked phones getting the update? There's nothing blocking it.
We're talking about developer phones here, these should have received the update first, not last.
Vague answers are unacceptable

For your info.... March 2013 is considered early 2013 also....
I seriously don't plan to wait another 2 months for the lock screen, battery issues and bugs to get fixed.
It was first said that Nokia will update the remaining unbranded phones as soon as 2013 starts. Then in another thread here on this forum it was said that before Feb 2013.
Now Nokia is not commited to provide a deadline for the release.
Why some phones got the update while the world outside America should wait another 4 months for things to work correctly ?
Why not releasing hotpaches or series of fixes every while and so to rectify the issues ?
Imagine if every Windows end user have to wait months for Microsoft to release a service pack including all fixes.
Nokia is one of the very few, if not the only company that doesnt have a universal schedule. Look at the Lumia series. It literally took my 5 months to get this device since annoucing it while my folks in USA were already exchanging for colors.
That phone is not even available in my country yet, they are still promoting for the Lumia 900...
Look at other phone manufactures like Samsung and Apple. The day it's annouced, you find it available everywhere.
I couldn't even by the Lumia 900 because by the time it was released here, the L920 was already annouced.
I take it with pain but if the battle between Apple and Microsoft is on their territory, those people Nokia left in the cold, your 15 years loyal customers and fans, were next to you when you mostly needed it.
My 2 cents.

I'd suggest you have a look at the forum guidelines befor you start crying here.
I feel your pain, but you should take this to Nokia through Nokia Care or possibly the Nokia Develolper website community. Nokia Support discussions are a user to user support platform and not intended to be used as a complaints channel towards anything directly aimed at Nokia.

OK it is Feb 17th and there is still no Portico update for my Nokia 920 dev phone. Can we expect that we won't be getting the Apollo+ and/or the Blue update(s) as well on these devices?
2013-02-17 22:23
No one here will be able to tell you that.. Maybe try @nokiahelps on twitter
