Currently, I'm quite happy tuning in the standard radio to my iPhone with an FM Modulator attached, which also charges it.
Any similar options for the Lumia? I'm also considering upgrading the car stereo with a aux-in jack, if this helps?
Muchos gracias.

The FM transmitters never worked well for me. Never consistently got good signals. May be something to do with the car. Ao, I have been using the aux cable which works well and in my case, gives much better sound quality anyway.

Yes it should because it just uses the standard headphone output from the phone. Just make sure you are using the correct cable. I think mine was £0.99 from ebay. ![]()

Hello, I don't want to make such a pessimistic first post but the lumia 800's audio handling is appauling so I wouldn't make too much effort to get it running in a car.
First up, a general wp7 issue is the inexplicable(Given Zune heritage) lack of gapless playback which means there's a disguisting click I between tracks on an album which should flow,DJ mixes are ruined.
Also the device does not detect line out\headphones so when U have a nice low volume set for ringer, U need to set volume to full for an almost decent line out volume manually. This means txts overpower any music while driving. Complete rubbish. The overall volume is too quiet, I have to use an extra third more volume compared to ip4 and there's a serious lack of bass.
Add in the appauling clicks and hiss after any audio event like txt message caused by a poor attention to detail.

If gapless playback is the main reason for buying aa phone AFAIK iOS is the only one that does it, Android, web OS, Symbian, Bada etc DO NOT. I find the music player fine on the Lumia and the volume is more than adequate through aux input on a car stereo (I sell cars) but if you're main concern is music and you are not satisfied get something that fulfills your requirements, personally I can live without Apple ![]()
If I have helped at all, a click on the White Star is always appreciated :

I have to agree that although I use my Lumia everyday via the aux connection in my car, the experience is not one that I could hand on heart recommend.
Although I find the music quality quite good during the track (opinion clearly) the hissing and popping between tracks and whenever the phone is doing anything else other than sitting there is terrible!
I even had to put it on airplane mode recently at a birthday party connected to a portable speaker as the data connection made the whole thing sound like a phone from the mid 90's! You know the noise I mean... like leaving a Nokia 5110 next to a speaker before it rings!!
I Have to say that this is not down to a lack of gapless playback though. As much as this feature is something that is sorely missed by me when wanting to listen to my old dance albums. I used to have an HTC 7 Trophy perviously, and whilst the phone looked nothing like as nice as the Lumia, it had absolutely no issues with interference at all regardless of what else was running on it. It many respects with the inability for the Lumia to receive the WP8 upgrade I wish I had never bothered getting the Nokia!
On a slighlty separate note, does anyone else suffer with the phone locking up on the very latest firmware?
It is happening quite frequently now and was the main reason for my visit to the forum today... wanted to see if it was a common problem first! It can only be solved by forcing (holding all 3 side buttons) a reset.
A really dissapointed Nokia user ![]()
