Hi all,
what if you like me dont apreciate this cloud back up?
I thought the Nokia PC-suite was quite good, especially that you could go through all your contacts and edit them on your PC. Anyone hasatake on this ?

If you don't like cloud usage you have the wrong phone
You also might want to use the forum search function and contribute to an existing thread instead of just creating yet another one.

If your intention in to coax Nokia into including WP support into PCSuite, then you have definitely posted in the wrong forum. This is a user to user support forum. You could forward your proposal directly to Nokia using the Nokia Support tab below.
There have been a few similar threads here in the past and I am surprised you did not find them in your search. The WP OS is Microsoft close shop and it is hghly unlikely that anyone else, Nokia included will be allowed access to core functionality so dont be disppointed if this never happens. There is a higher chance of Microsoft themselves coming up with a suite to do this and perhaps you might want to suggest this to them using the link below.

Thank you for your reply, but as Im sure you are aware there are more than one way to skin a cat !
I have seen that you could syncronize your contacts with for example outlook, and its certainly not too far fetched to have a Nokia PC-suite that also is fully compatiable with N920..
And I must stress that the PC-suite was an exccellent program that made you the sole master of your own NOKIA phone. And since I have had maybe 20 different Nokia phones over the years, I think its just fair that I can air my views here on this Forum without censurship comments from people that seems to have an ego issue more than a real passion for HELPING people.
I also have an Iphone which by the way I think is a load of sh*''t
If you cant be good be careful...

I appreciate where you are coming from but I also happen to aware of the restrictions Microsoft have placed on core functions for security reasons. I think they are paranoid about regular security breaches with their past operating systems. Simply put, 3rd party apps are only allowed access to their own data files. Data files cannot be shared with other apps. Only people who have access to this are MS themselves. The sync process crosses all these barriers. Hence the only solution is only possible from them.

I doubt that will happen anytime soon in this case because of the core restrictions. Security features to secure the OS from external interference. However I am sure some will try but probably not Nokia.

Glad you like it. I have both the 920 and 820 which I use as work and personal phone. Great phones and definitely the next step in mobile communication. Just needs a few minor tweaks as with any new system.

A jailbrake won't happen. The way Windows Phone communicated to the outside world is by design and a part of te OS core. It is no some switch or code blocking it.. So since there is no path to the door there si nothing to jailbrake, you'd have to rewite the core OS code.
So in short; It's not gonna happen.. ever..
And oh, other Nokia Phones do not 'sync'with outlook, Nokis Suite hacks the Outlook data files directly without ever going through Outlook.
