Creating apps for lumia 610

Hi,

Im teaching myself how to develop apps for android phones and im practicing on my lumia 610.

I'm using the program app inventor and its not picking up the phone when I plug it in.

I need to debug the phone first, is there a way of debugging it or should I wait and use my wife's Samsung.
