Design flaw? power/unlock button

My wife and I each recently purchased a Nokia Lumia 822 and have enjoyed them immensely, but after less than two months time, we have noticed that the power/lock/unlock button (just below the volume buttons) is not as easily accessible as it once was. The button is almost flush/flat with the side of the phone and that is not a very good thing considering the two year plan with my wireless provider we also purchased to get the great deal on the phone. The volume and camera buttons are very accessible, granted, neither one gets as much use as the power/unlock button. That is why we feel there appears to be a design flaw with said button.
