I guess it's your bad luck. I suggest you use your phone on 7.5 until the update hits on Zune which is expected by the end of this month. Updating through Zune might fix your problem.

A moderator might remove this but you can also try flashing it yourself. Just google and download the required software to do it.

Don't trust those Nokia care people. They can lie just to avoid work. It is also possible that the 7.8 firmware which Nokia Care people installed on your device might be glitched or of a different variant which might cause such inconsistency. That explains why they have received so many complains. They install glitched/incorrect firmwares, receive complains and then call 7.8 a bad OS. Funny, isn't it? I immediately understood that they were liars when you posted about the supposed WP8 update for 7.5 phones which they informed you about while calling 7.8, a bad update.

Four of my friends use different lumia phones, all are on 7.8 and have no problems at all.

Re: Great news for all current Lumia Windows Phone users!

Remove your battery and see underneath, you will find your product code. Mine is 059M161 and the corresponding variant is "APAC1 IN CV BLACK" under RM-803. I won't utter the 'N' word so I hope you know which software I'm talking about. lol

You shouldn't take a picture with a "flash" though. 7.8 is just about to come out officially. Why take the risk and pain if it's just a matter of days?

Hmm..maybe i'll wait for the official release then?
However im already in this glitchy 7.8..won't Zune tell me I already have the latest software and wont make me update to the REAL 7.8?

Or do I still have to do a..what do you call it... Oh, a "flashback"?
O.o

Re: Great news for all current Lumia Windows Phone users!

And I will not remove this phone's case because it's still under warranty :smileysurprised: just about 4months old, shiny Lumia800.
If not I would just go for Lumia 920 for the next contract...which is still not available from carriers in this country :smileyfrustrated:

From my experiments with different variant OS (my warrenty period is over anyway), I found out that some of the firmwares has got the volume problem, where as some has got excellent volume level. To some one above who said that I need to check my ear, i checked the volume level with different OS but the same song, and I must say UK one is really good.

One thing either Nokia Care executives should help, or Nokia online forums should help or at least let us solve and share with others. We as loyal Nokiafans spend more money for a Nokia smartphone compared to any other (Droidfans, Samyfans etc)..

I think now no one is waiting for the update through Zune and instead doing it from Nokia Care :smileyhappy:

Its not our fault to use other thirdparty sw to download the latest firmware updates. People have became frustrated by waiting such a long time....Its really shame!!!!!!!!!!!

Legally speaking, no, but in practice, compared to other smartphones and old Nokias, the 710, 800 etc. are still beta testing models with many necessary features missing.

However I do agree about the urgency. It's better with a later upgrade if it solves the problems, the important is that the loyal early adopters are taken good care of and not forgotten.

Flash is a product that has been discontinued and will receive no further development. With the advent of HTML5 it is no longer necessary. Very few phones support it nowadays.

Re: Great news for all current Lumia Windows Phone users!

Why don't Lumia 510 and 620 come with dual sim and front facing camera? I guess going forward by default phones costing 10K plus should have front facing cameras and 3G network capability. It will also be interesting to see what Nokia brings to take on Samsung Grand and Galaxy S Duo.
