OK so I've finally updated my Lumia 800 to windows phone 7.8 and suddenly I can't use the internet sharing tool. It gives me a message telling me there is no mobile internet to share when clearly my mobile internet is connected!!

Anyone else experiencing thisproblem?

I must say I'm a little disappointed with Windows Phone 7.8, after many months of waiting we have an OS with these little bugs.

Have you tried as simple thing as restart your phone?

Get the Network Setup app to properly setup the access points for your carrier. First let the app find an install settings for you and only use manual settings entry if no automatic settings are found.

No that didn't help, I'm trying to restore my phone to 7.5 until Nokia get their acts together and sorts these issues out

I don't think it is a wp7.8 issue as such because Internet sharing works with all other devices running WP7.8, including my Lumia 800.  So Nokia wopn't be fixing anything since there is nothing wrong. However, there is obviously something wrong with your settings or installation. If you have tried the Network Setup app as previously suggested then perhaps you should consider resetting your phone. Make sure to backup all your data beforehand.

Well I restored my phone to 7.5 using the restore function through zune and now all is working how it should be. So clearly the problem was with the 7.8 installation.

The key word here is "Installation". I have no problems with Internet Sharing on my WP7.8's. Same with phones belonging to friends. Clearly something went wrong during your installation. Perhaps you might want to try it again.

I think I will, probably I will factory reset my phone first and then try it from there.

Hi Again, well I reset my phone and tried the installation again. The same problem occured, so I reset my phone back to 7.5 complete wipe and I still have the problem.

Looks like i've lost the use of internet sharing for the moment

I'm just wondering was there something I installed/used which helped the internet sharing tool to work? Because if i think about it I don't remember trying to use it right away.

I'm on Yoigo spain if thats any help at all

Have you checked with Yoigo to confirm they support tethering on your tariff?

Hi can U help me I can't get the update for 7.8 on lumia800 im on an Irish network and my phone is pre-owend is there anything I can do Zune keeps telling me im up to date so what do I do

Yes they definitely support tethering, I've used it many times before. Infact I used it yesterday morning just before i restored my phone. It's just really strange why its not working anymore

Don't worry about it just yet. I know for a fact both Vodafone and O2 Ireland are still working on the updates and have not approved them for release yet. Hopefully it won't be much longer.

I am from Romania and I buy my lumia 800 from Italy with WP7.8 and I use this phone in Vodafone Romania, same problem with the internet sharing, my message is "INTERNET NOT SHARED",I try all possibilities(reset factory,Network Setup,celular setup....etc)  but nothing - before this phone I have a lg optimus 7 and the internet sharing work`s perfect.Please give me a solution.

yes I thing is branded,I buy it from Vodafone Italy carrier and I use it in Vodafone Romania - I must to unlock this phone from Vodafone Italy - you thing this is a solution?.

Hi again,

I still have same probleme with my lumia 800 internet sharing when I want to connect it I receive this message "connection not shared.There`s no mobile data connection to share at the moment.Chec your mobile settings and signal,and try again.". - I mentioned that my signal is all time 3G and my data plan carrier support internet sharing - before this phone I have an Lg optimus 7 with wp 7.5 and my internet sharing works fine.

Please give me a solution for this!!!!
