Hi guys, I want to know if its ok for me to go to sleep and leave my Lumia 800 phone charging. It will be fully charged in 2 hours (when Im sleeping) but I want to know if its ok for me to leave it plugged until I wake up 8 hours later.
Will this affect my battery, or is it ok.
Thanks.

It's fine - I've been doing that every night since I've had one in November. If anything the battery life is generally improving.

There is really no issue leaving any modern smartphone plugged in overnight, the phones hardware won't allow overcharging and you don't tend to get memory effect on modern batteries, I've always charged my phones overnight ![]()

Thing is folks, charge it when it's convenient. It's a mobile device, so I can't charge mine when mobile so, doing it overnight is a reasonable time to do it.

If there is no voltage fluctuations in your area, no problem in overnight charging.
Otherwise it can damage the phone.

The charger itself controls the power going to the phone and as such would compensate for any local variations AFAIK , also been charging batteries overnight for over 15 yrs without issue !!

Same battery technology so same principal applies. The charger controls the current going into the phone and the phone will automatically stop charging when the battery is full.
