Windows Phone 8 does not support the SimAccessProfile in Bluetooth. For more information see the connectivity tab on the device page.

I don't need it, so in my case it would be worth waiting for....

Its really disappointing, being a Windows Phone "Fan", having paid a lot of money for the Audi Car Phone Kit and not beeing able to use the real precious feature of rSAP !
I already waited 1.5 years now for the new phones without being able to use rSAP on my Phon 7.5
Is there a reason Nokia builts rSAP into its Symbian Devices, but not into the future hope Windows Phone?

Can You explain us the reason, why Nokia on WP8 doesn't support rSAP, wich is the most important for Audi/VW/BMW/Mercedes owners. It's "only" a Bluetooth protocoll based on the basic Bluetooth technology. Without this feature is the Nokia WP8 series uninteresting for business users.

Probably the reason, they're going for the masses and probably don't see enough people interested in it to make it worth adding it in. Doesn't mean they can't add it in the future if the internals are capable. Read a few days ago that they are adding in Bluetooth Transfer to the existing models so it's not out of the question but it would be a Nokia initiative as I don't believe it's a standard feature set in WP8.

I really don't understand this.
rSAP would be a unique feature and a killer app.
WM 6.5 featured it and I loved it and it qualified WM 6.5 as the business phones the apple iOS playground will never be. Later with the WM devices it is no longer possible.
Is it possible to have a software solution?

I'm interested in the new Lumia 920, too. But I need rSAP Bluetooth profile. I use it with my Nokia 5230 and with my old Windows Phone 6.5 device MDA Vario.
Therefore, it is really disappointing, that Nokia will not support rSAP on his Windows Phone 8 models.
I will have a look on the new HTC Phone 8X, which shall be able to support rSAP.
Shame on Nokia, Apple, Android and Microsoft, that they don't care about rSAP!

Where is your information from that the HTC 8X supports the SIM Access Profile?
I was unable to find anything that really confirms or even suggests that it does. The fact that no other Windows Phone 7.X/8.X device so far has supported rSAP suggests otherwise. And for example PhoneArena.com actually says in the specs that it does not.
Could you please revert your change on the wikipedia rSAP page until there is at least some kind of proof that the HTC 8X it actually does have that? Also, you didn't even spell the name of the phone correctly there!

I'm not sure why everyone seems to be blaming Nokia for not including rSAP owing to the fact that it's Microsoft who write, and have full control of, Windows Phone OS.

I don't understand that either, but I would phrase it as that it's "owing to the fact that it's Microsoft who runs and has full control of Nokia".

I'm using Samsung phone Galaxy S II with rSAP. Andriod itself do not support SAP, however Samsung was able to add it! I was waiting for WP 8 in the hope that it includes SAP. I still have hope that, Samsung overcome the WP8 weakness in the Ativ-S

I totally agree with everybody here. One big advantage from Nokia Windows phones to market leading business smartphones like the iphone could be the support of rSAP. Obviously the goal of Micrsoft/Nokia isn't to catch them up... sad..

In terms of wanting RSAP or SAP on the Lumia 920 I guess this won't happen for sometime, i have spoken with a member from Nokia team who told me this my first port od call was to contact Connor Pierce at Nokia. The problem which i did get a reply from, and he passed this through to one of his colleuges Matt Channing to get back to me but he didn't but i did get a call from Nokia, a lady called
Sabelle T.
Specialist 1 - Nokia Care
United King and Ireland
But all i got from her was the difference in the Bluetooth versions V4.0 & 2.1 not much of a help really
I had the 920 delivered last week and found it to be the worst phone in terms of using it to set it up. why oh why didn't they update the PC Suite to allow you to copy all the stuff you need like the old system.
All the best
