The call quality on my lumia 710 is very bad.
I hear other fine and clear but it seems that the microphone on the phone is perhaps not working properly. If I dont talk directly to it people will complain that i sound distant and very unclear. So i have to be very careful not to move it while I talk...
Surely it has to be a bug or something wrong with the microphone? I could almost hold my old s40 phone upside down and talk to the earpiece and people would still hear me fine
Should i use the warranty and try to get it replaced?

My new 710 also has bad sound quality. As with previous posts, people I call find my voice to be muffled, hard to hear. I have the same problem if I record my voice straight to the phone (One Note recording), so it's nothing to do with the network connection. I also have the same problem whetherI use the mic on the phone itself, or the plug-in headset microphone, so that eliminates the physical microphone.
Listening to the playback, it sounds like there are high frequency spikes added to my voice. My guess is that it's a fault in the audio signal processsing. If it was an old fashioned analogue circuit, I'd say it was overloading (clipping), but in these digital days I can't offer a more precise analysis.

I have bought 3 days ago lumia 710. Everybody tells me that my voice has very bad quality (quiet and blurred). Should I return my phone and get a new one? Is anybody else experience the same thing with me? It's also strange because I hear the callers very clear and loud and they don't no matter if I use hands free, phone's mic or the Bluetooth hands free (from Nokia). It's seems that the problem isn't the mic.

reading this I think I am going to be heading back to Rogers with my phone and kicking up a stink. My phone has been a problem since day 1 and thought it was jsut a matter of getting used to where to speak on it but maybe, by the sounds of things, it is not and it is truly a phone problem. GRRRRR Not happy considering it is my only connection as I do not have a landline. perhaps I should go oldschool and abandon the cell and just go landline only!

so sadly because of my work schedule I was just outside the 30 day return thing so now my phone has been sent off for repair. Impressed I am not. Although the loaner phone I was provided with is great should have got it in the first place I guess since everyone can hear me and I can take call and the medical residents can hear there is someone on the other end of the line!!!!
Wonder what they will say when the phone comes back, my luck they will say no problem
Tell that to everyone who cannot hear a word I say on the phone GRRRRR. Cntemplating smoke signals for sending messages and calls since phones are really starting to upset me

Kunal Gupta:
Even I face same issue with the Mic. Even a slight movement away from MIC and people on other side can't hear anything. However when on speaker, there is not any problem.
Recently even, the aux on my car plays the songs from phone but on the call I can hear conversation but the whatever I say can't be heard by the recipient. Though during the song play, if I try using voice commands the MIc does work.
This problem with Mic only happens when I am on a call.
