Re: Lumia 800 after update to 1600.2483.8106.11500

I can't even update my phone, the first december update I had 800704DD error and I think I only got around it by resetting the phone and updating on a limited account.

This is why I hated iPhones and why alot of people hate iPhones, who can't the phone itself just get the update rather than having Zune is beyond me.

I do not want to reset my phone yet I do want the update... anyone know of a fix for the error?

Re: Lumia 800 after update to 1600.2483.8106.11500

i used to get those errors as well for me i found that what helps is if you update your zune make sure its on the latest software, also make sure the time on your lumia is set correctly as is the date and the time zone etc.

@ itsoft3g
you can force the update .. search for "lumia 800 update" thread in this forum and you'll find that i give a link there that explains how to do that.

Re: Lumia 800 after update to 1600.2483.8106.11500

If you read my previous posts in this thread you know that the latest battery update did not solve fox the poor battery problem for me.

However, after some messing around it now seems to be fixed. When I pulled it off the charger yesterday, the phone reported 77% battery left, but it quickly dropped to 76% (I did not charge it all the way). It is now 20 hours later and the phone reports 18% battery life left. This is a huge improvement from the 12 -17 hours I was getting on a full charge previously.

So, what did I do to bring about this change?

I plugged the phone into my computer and roled back the fireware with Zune to 7740. I then unplugged the phone and reset it in the "about" part of the settings menu. When the reset was done I entered all the details that the phone requires upon a new install -- "windows live ID" and "Nokia Account" information. I did not add any additional email accounts or download any programs. From here I plugged the phone back into Zune and installed the 8107/battery fix update.

That was it. Now I have vastly improved battery life.

Re: Lumia 800 after update to 1600.2483.8106.11500

Same story with me to be fair. After the update battery life was terrible it dropped from full to 77% in four hours of just lying there with full bars of connection. Now its amazing! I didn't have to roll it back to the previous update though I just reset the phone and set it up again. I think the problem is the email accounts when they get transferred to the new update.. Anyway just resetting works fine my phone now loses 1% per hour in standby and that's with 3g on, 3 emails contacts and calendars syncing at every 15 and 30 minutes plus weather on a live tile every 3 hours right now im at 21% after 1 day and 6 hours of using the phone normally (couple of calls texts browsing, also an hour of underground and a whole night at my girlfriends place where the signal is next to nothing and maybe 10 mins of games) extremely happy with the battery now thanks for the fix Nokia!

Re: Lumia 800 after update to 1600.2483.8106.11500

So conclusion:

My Lumia after Full Flash/Hard Reset works nearly 50h on battery(low usage). In normal one it's nearly 36h(8h in standby by the night).

So if you have problem with battery after update to 8106, you should make hard reset.

Either use reset function in Settings > About at bottom of screen that completely wipes the phone or press down thePower+Volume+Camera until the phone vibrates then release the power button only, but keep the volume and camera pressed down for another 5 seconds.

Re: Lumia 800 after update to 1600.2483.8106.11500

OMG!! it seems to be working... lost all my apps, but most were free... but for the first time ever on this phone, (i've added yahoo 2 hourly push and a couple of other apps that get info every now and again)... and it's telling me there's 1 day and 9 hours' charge remaining... the phone has NEVER shown anything above 23 hours, and neither did my first handset. I'm sooooo crossing fingers this has worked. will be checking battery each time I add back the few apps I had... and will send an update later. thanks to those above suggesting these fixes. :-)

Re: Lumia 800 after update to 1600.2483.8106.11500

I've seen the above issue on my Lumia 800, with the reported full charge capacity of the battery reported by the diagnostics dropping from around the 1350 mAh to about 1140 mAh after a couple of charges following the update to the latest build.

I solved it on my phone by stopping the background tasks running (go to settings, slide over one screen to applications, then click on background tasks and stop anything that is running); this cut the current being consumed by the phone by about half, and more suprisingly also returned the reported full charge capacity of the battery to over 1400 mAh!

This is the same reason that a hard reset is working, as all of the background tasks would (of course) be killed when the phone is reset. Interestingly a soft reset didn't work, the background tasks simply restart when the phone is switched on again.

Re: Lumia 800 after update to 1600.2483.8106.11500

Mine did the same, and I was equally cheesed off! I put all my apps back on whilst the phone was on charge, its been about a week since the update and the phone is easily lasting 1.5 days on a full charge and says 1 day 15 hrs when its taken off charge

Re: Lumia 800 after update to 1600.2483.8106.11500

I haven't updated to the latest version as yet, was going to do it this weekend...

However, having to do a hard reset is not acceptable, and neither is having to turn off all the settings that should make the Lumia a smart phone....
