Lumia 800 problems an immense list of bad experiences

Firstly I’d like to say I’ve been very happy with my lumia 800 until finally taking a friends advice and updating the firmware to improve battery life. This is a list of some of the problems I’m experiencing:

The problems with the phone are as follows:

No battery life indicator, I cannot see battery status unless I go into settings  for battery life, the diagnostic tool        does not work!

Phone constantly on battery saving mode.

Unable to reinstall old firmware as I was not login though out the update session.

 - Afterwards I found that there is nothing to do to get the older version of the firmware.

 - I’m aware that this is a common problem with the old hardware version of the Lumia 800

The adapter from a regular plug to the usb does no work – the phone does not charge

- I’m only able to charge my phone via a usb port in my computer!

- The phone ran out of power and is now constantly rebooting. = it is unuseable

The problems with Nokia support:

I am unable to reach them by phone, chat or email. (btw I live in Denmark)

I do not know where to send my phone for repair (and unable to find out due to the lack of communication from support)

Now my question is to this community what are my options for either fixing my phone or getting in thouch with the Nokia support team?

Thank you very much for reading and any response that may be present.

A very dissatisfied Nokia customer

Re: Lumia 800 problems an immense list of bad experiences

Would you mind sharing which update you installed? Go to settings>About>More information and let us know the Carrier information, OS version and firmware revision. Also, how did you update?

I'd strongly suggest you reset the Lumia through Settings>about>reset your phone. Keep in mind this will erase all phone data so make sure you sync important data you can sync before you do.

I find the battery status on the status bar to be more then enough. I get on average three days ona charge with normal everyday use, Wi-Fi and location services alwayson and three mail accounts syncing as well as Facebook and Twitter.

If the phone is constantly on battery saving mode it might be connected to he need for a reset.

If the phone charges from a USB port on a PC I'd check/change my wall charger.

Nokia Care contact information for Denmark is here and repair options are here.

Re: Lumia 800 problems an immense list of bad experiences

To see battery level pull down screen from top.
You cant reinstall old firmware.
If the adapter from plug to usb does not work and the usb port works via pc thats simple to work out whats at fault.

Try a factory reset on your device back up data first to be safe.
From the main menu either swipe right-to-left on the touchscreen or press the right arrow button on the top right of the interface.
Scroll through the icons until you get to the ‘Settings’ menu. Then, tap the ‘Settings’ icon.
Scroll down to the ‘About’ menu which should be second from the bottom. Tap it.
Press the ‘Reset Your Phone’ button.
The phone will reset itself and return you to the main menu.

Or

Switch the phone off.
Press and hold the Volume Down, Power and Camera buttons at the same time.
When the phone vibrates release the Power button but keep the Camera and Volume Down buttons held for a further five seconds.
The phone will now be reset

Or

Hold down the Volume Down and Power buttons at the same time.
Wait for the phone to pulse vibrate three times.
The phone should now reboot.

If all these fail and your still having issues you need to visit a nokia care centre. If you cant do that as mentioned use the contact us link on the homepage.

If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

Re: Lumia 800 problems an immense list of bad experiences

@Paulheu

Currently the phone is restarting all the time, meaning that I’m unable to see which firmware /software im using. All i know it is that I have installed the "newest" which is somewhat old currently. According to Zune I synced it the 16th of January.

I have tryed resetting using the power + volume down buttons, which does not work!

Currently trying to reset via computer, the connection with the phone is broke every couple of seconds so at the moment it seems futile.

The status bar on the top of the screen only displays a "?" (This is a common problem with the old hardware I found through some searching on the forum)

The wall socket is working fine, but the adapter is broken in some way.

Yes I found those myself. The chat is ALWAYS offline and the phone line does not work it does not call the number (it is like calling a number which does not exist).

Anyway thanks for the respond.

@Jimmyireland

I tried all the solutions you mention, they do not work. And see above response.

Again thank you for responding.
