Hi, All,

Not sure if anyone has the same issue as mine.

My phone is Lumia 820.

There is a mobile network problem on my phone,NOT A WIFI PROBLEM.

- There is about 50% chance, when i unlock my phone, the internet connection is somehow dead, in the status bar, the connnection symbo is still on, which is "H" signal strenght is full. But, i can't open any links in my browser, can't open Facebook, can't browse the Windows store.  I need wait about 20 seconds for the connection to "reboot" or something..

- Apart from unlocking screen, this issue happens even when i am using it, it just suddenly pop up an information says " internet connection failed, plz make sure that your mobile data is on" something like this. Again, after a while, 20 sec maybe, the connection back to normal.

This is reallllllllly annoying me, at least 3 or 4 time a day!!!!has this problem have ever happend to anyone else?

My be someone chould help me plz (>.<)

I've not experienced this on my 920. It may be a problem with your SIM card. Can you try your SIM in another phone to see if you experience the same problem? Also, can you try another SIM in your 820 to isolate whether there is a problem with your phone?

Thanks man, i have replaced the sim card with another new one and this problem still happens, as for try the sim in onther phone, here is the problem, 820 sim card is pretty small and i my previous phone had the normal sized sim card  . got to try it on my friend's  phone, really appricate for you help!

hi mate,

have you also tried performing a soft reset (pressing the volume down and power buttons together until the phone vibrates), and that you are up-to-date with all the Nokia system app updates in the Store?

Yes，i did, for few times actually,  what is the newest version anyway? I have been looking for it for a while, but not sure about this.  thanks!

do you mean the newest version of Windows Phone 8, the Portico update? Nokia has stated that the roll-out of this update has commenced, and will be complete by mid-March. however, some users are still having some issues.....this may be due to hardware rather than software problems though. if you are up-to-date, and the problems are still occurring even after everything suggested in this thread, your only other option is to perform a hard reset (Settings > About > Reset your phone).

please bear in mind that this wipes all personal data so you will need to backup all your personal data to PC and/or online storage first. Failing the above, you will need to take your phone back to your point of purchase, or if they are being less than helpful, take your phone to your local Nokia Care for inspection: http://nokia.com/support

Thanks man, i think my 820 is already up to date, and it still sucks anyway.

I have experienced a similar problem with my 820 in Saudi Arabia. My problem was also that when i moved in a weak signal area, the phone would not connect to the mobile network again. I had to reboot. The shop where I bought the phone blamed the SIM card and the mobile network then replaced the SIM since it was previously cut from a standard sized SIM. The problem re-appeared after 2 or 3 days. The shop then replaced the phone which was les sthan 2 weeks old.
The problem persisted on the new phone. Somebody recommended that switch to 2G data speed to test if it still happens. I have tried this and found that the phone now has superb reception and never loses signal. Once signal is lost, it picks up automatically once in a stronger signal location. The battery life is also much improved. I have move my settings tile to the front screen and switch to 4 G when I have serious surfing to do. The phone handles it well when the signal is strong and then never has issues. Once completed, i switch back in the settings to 2G. I hope this will solve your issue as well.
