Lumia 822 Indestructibility Rating

Hey there. So, back when the 900 first came out, some videos circulated wherein folks hammered in some nails with the phone and failed to damage it at all. I'm just wondering if the 822 can stack up to that. Not that I plan on using it for construction, I'm just wondering whether or not I should bother shelling out for a screen protector.

Yeh ! The videos are good fun to watch.. but since the Gorilla Glass is scratch resistant and not scratch proof it will depend on HOW and WHAT comes in its contact to produce a scratch. It is your personal choice whether to fix a screen protector or not but if you want to know, I have fixed one on my Nokia Lumia 920 ..

So to clarify, what you're saying is that the 822 is built with the same glass as the other devices, correct?

Not all other devices..but similar to the Nokia Lumia 920 which also has corning Gorilla Glass 2 which is considered as a step ahead of the Gorilla Glass ..though the difference in the 2 devices in subject is Lumia 822 has an AMOLED touch screen where as Lumia 920 has Capacitive touch screen ..

If you feel the need for a screen protector, then by all means purchase one. But the stuff you see in videos should be taken with a pinch of salt, as Farby has said, it depends on the angle and the force you hit it with, and well it's foolish for anyone to assume any phone or screen is indestructible. IF you handle it with care, then your phone should be just fine....it's just like any other electronic device.
