Hi All
I have a problem with my new Lumia 900, basically my parents have a very similar number (0428****** & 0429******) with the * being the identical numbers. When a call comes in from 0429 it identifies it as the other contact (my dad in this case, I think this may be because his number is first in my contacts as Mum is further down the list alphabetically, havnt tested this yet). This is obviously very very annoying! Incoming text messages are identified correctly it is just the incoming call, now my brother has a Lumia 800 and his does exactly the same thing!
I have come from a HTC Titan and it did NOT have this problem so I know it is not a Windows Phone problem, doing a bit of digging in Nokia forums however it appears this problem has been seen before with Nokia Symbian devices (http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Eseries-and-Commun
Nokia please please fix this in your Lumia range ![]()

And you definitely don't have any duplicate contacts on the phone ? Like Mum Home, Mum, Home etc all with same number attached ?
If I have helped at all, a click on the White Star is always appreciated :

Definitely haha ![]()
I have my Titan side by side with my Lumia and it still has all my stuff (Contacts / Email accounts etc) so exactly same contacts. Put SIM in Titan, identifies correctly... put it in the Lumia 900 and it identifies it incorrectly [the incoming call].
It's definitely a Nokia related bug.

Hi Normad,
Thanks for your feedback. I have forwarded this to our technical experts.
Are your Titan and Lumia running the same OS version (Settings>About>more information)? In all honesty Caller ID is part of the OS and not the Firmware so it should not differ between these two devices unless the OS version is different.
Let us know and I will get back to you on this as soon as I have more information.

Hi Kosh
Thanks for the reply!
Good to see a quick Nokia response on this. Very impressed.
As for the OS version, the Lumia is newer. I have an international unlocked HTC Titan and its OS is still 8107 where as the Lumia 900 is running 8773.

Hi Normad
we are working on a solution to this issue so can you tell me the product code of your Lumia 900, it's the 7 digit number (059****) on the back of the SIM holder?
Thanks

Hi Auslander
Sorry the delay in the reply to this, have not checked this thread in a couple of weeks! ![]()
059P697. I bought it off Expansys so its the HK country variant.
I have however replaced the firmware on it with the CountryVariantAustralia AU White V3_COLOR software version 2175.2101.8779.12201
So my OS & Firmware are upto date and the problem is still present ![]()
Thanks!

Hi All
I got the notification about an update a couple of days ago and have just updated to 12301 and this problem is still present. No Nokia activity in this thread for a while now...
I'm looking forward to the Lumia 920 but if it has this problem just like my 900 does then I'm afraid to say I will be switching away from a Nokia once again. I came back to Nokia after having had many HTC WM and then HTC WP7 phones, all of which had been great devices. I was very pleased to see Nokia supporting the Windows Phone ecosystem and jumped on the 900 as soon as it came out.
After having had my Lumia 900 for a while now, I've got to say I have been fairly dissappointed in its battery life & this rather annoying bug that I see daily.
Hope a Nokia rep can chase this up, thanks ![]()

Hi Normad
Can you try saving the numbers in the international format, this should fix the issue with those nearly identical contacts.
Apologies for the inconvenience.

Hi Auslander
This may be a work around to the problem I am experiencing, it does not fix the problem however.
To that end, Is this going to be fixed in the Nokia Lumia 900 firmware?
Is it fixed in the Nokia Lumia 920 firmware?
