The volume became very low after updating the software. Is that correct? If yes, we can assure you that the audio volume for alarm tones is still within the End-User safety limits. You can still adjust the volume level up to 30 with the volume key on the side.
In 2009, European Commission created a mandate to limit the health risks from exposure to loud noise from personal music players and in accordance to current End-User standards, Nokia has integrated new default audio volume settings to our phone range. For example, a warning text will now appear on phone screen when the volume is too loud while listening to music.
Detailed limits:
- Warning text on User Interface (UI) when user is adjusting volume more than 85 dBA.
- Warning text repeated on UI once after every 20 h of cumulative listening time with > 85 dBA sound pressure.
- Maximum sound pressure when listening to music with headphones/headphones (wired or wireless) is limited to 100 dBA (not valid for phone calls).
