My Lumia 900 has had some problems since I bought it in June, but none of them has given me that kind of headache than this one does.

When I turn the camera on, the "main camera"(not the face-camera) should start. But no, the phone turns on the face-camera, UPSIDE DOWN. When I try to press the button that chages the face-camera to main camera and vice versa, the whole camera application crashes and I must restart the phone.

I haven't tried restoring the factory settings yet. I'm just wondering what it actually does and what should I save before that?

A factory reset just restores the settings to as when you first got it.You should always get into a habit of regular back ups.
