Hi Support,

I was able to charge my lumia 900 with my car (Toyota Prius 2010) USB until the latest firmware upgrade. Only catch was to use original cable came along with phone. It didn't accept any other micro USB cables. But after the latest update even the original cable doesn't work! All the cables works well to charge the phone when connected to laptop. I am having hard time using it as i frequently travel.

Ideally i should be able to charge with any micro USB cable in the car. Could you guys suggest any workarounds or fixes?
Not to mention my iPhone was perfect in USB recharge though it is a slow recharge.

Please help!

Try using another charger, not a micro usb + usb port charger, but one like this:

Thanks for the response however my car has builtin USB port so i want it to be recognized by Lumia Software for recharging the battery. As i mentioned i was able to recharge with initial version of software for the same phone and same car USB port.

Any other thoughts?

does the usb port charge other devices? maybe a blown fuse? . Personally, I bought a charger that gives 2.1 Ah and have no problems whatsoever

Problem with most cars is they don't even hit the spec power output of USB. Just a guess but either you blew a fuse or the firmware probably "fixed" power issues and thus the car isn't charging it after the firmware fix.

I get the same problem with a number of devices on the USB port of my 335i. Unless you blew a fuse (which has happened to me in the past) I use a socket charger that outputs a decent power for the fact that it works with all my devices and charges them a hell of a lot faster.

Plug something else that you know works in the usb port. Try a usb thumb drive that has a light on it when it's getting power as they use a lot less power to see if the fuse blew.

Same problem in my Jeep. The jeep has two USB ports, both of which charge other devices (iPhone, Zune) just fine - but not the Lumia 900. I never tried it before the update.

Same Problem with my Ford Galaxy. My old HTC phone charges perfectly using the same built in USB connector. Is there a fix available?

I checked the USB port with other phones including latest Galaxy Nexus and those phones charges well.

I believe it is a Nokia software/hardware bug.

Looks like this problem still exists or is somebody get this working? Atleast i can't charge my lumia 900 via car USB port...

Same issue on a Honda Crosstour. Frustrating because all worked fine with my iphone

someone please tell me there's a fix for this.  I just purchased a new vehicle with a USB port that works with other devices but not the Nokia 900.  error states "could not connect USB connection not supported".  pretty frustrating....
