Re: Lumia 900 wont power on after battery drain..bricked!!

I experienced the same issue with my Nokia Lumia 900. I called AT&T, and they were happy to replace for me with a new phone (same model) because they said I still have factory warranty (thanks goodness). I thought I would be happy with the new phone but then a week later, the new phone dies with the same symptom. What a **bleep**ing joke. I hate Nokia phone!!!!! I want my money back! Shout out folks!

Re: Lumia 900 wont power on after battery drain..bricked!!

Hi guys.

I had the same problem today which is the 2nd day of me being the owner of this device. I followed '7thSense' steps and pressed the power button for more than 40 seconds; actually l think it was 50 seconds, i released it because I thought it was of no use and after I released it the device switched on again. During the white screen I unplugged it from the charger until the Nokia logo came up and then replugged it again and now it seems fine. One thing is for sure I will never let the batter to drain out again! Having said that I can't understand how a company like Nokia and Microsoft do not issue an update on this problem!

Honestly speaking this device will be the last Nokia device that l will buy if at some time or another it will have any issue that will effect its performance. I used to be a big Nokia fan but I don't think l am anymore since l had an X7 and when I updated it to Symbian Belle the headphone jack didn't work anymore and, believe it or not, that is one of the reasons l bought the Lumia 900. If this f***s up l'm done with Nokia for sure!

Anyway hope the above helps you guys with your problem.

Re: Lumia 900 wont power on after battery drain..bricked!!

I faced this problem in 3 weeks time. I dont remeber if this is the first time that I let the phone battery drain, but I faced it. Tried all the possible ways and posted methods from different posts.

I'm from India and Nokia launched Lumia 900 in Sep 2012 in India. Its sad that inspite of this known issue, Nokia released the product with this major bug. Its even more frustrating that, customer care people are not aware of this issue.

They have taken the device and will be sending it to head office for further investigation? And the process is going to take 10 days.. 10 days to solve the problem which is already known from past 5 months?

Hi wanita190,

WP7.x doesn't support blocking of callers. Though, you may search in Store (formerly Marketplace) if there's an available application to block a call.

For your son's concern, if the battery is completely discharged, it may take several minutes before the charging indicator is displayed. In some cases where the battery is extremely low, one of the following tricks may resolve your issue:

  1. Connect the phone to your computer with a USB cable that came in the sales package with your Lumia phone. If the battery has not been used for a long time, to begin charging, you may need to connect the cable. Then, disconnect and reconnect it.
  2. Press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds. Then, press to turn on your phone again.
  3. Your PC should detect your phone when it is connected using a USB cable. If this is not happening you can manually switch the phone into specific mode following these steps:
  • Disconnect your phone from the USB cable.
  • Hold down the camera button.
  • Continue holding down the camera button and connect the USB cable between your phone and PC.
  • Continue holding down the camera button until you see the connect-to-computer screen on your Lumia phone display.
  • Release the camera button.
  • The Zune software on the PC should automatically detect your phone now and charging indicator appears on the display.

If the tricks above does not help, you will need to contact your local Nokia Care. You can find details by clicking the Contact us link in the support pages of the Nokia website for your country.

Note: Your battery has been partially charged at the factory but when taking your new device into use, please keep the charger connected for 30 minutes. It is recommended to use original charger (AC-16).

Hope this helps. :smileyhappy:
