Often I would have to reboot my Lumia 920 because my connectivity is completely unresponsive. It's becoming a big problem because when this happens I'm not getting e-mails as well as text messages. Once I do a reboot, I get some text messages that were sent to me a few hours ago. Also, it's frustrating when I can't get a connection via internet explorer or any other app. Please someone fix this!

My SIM ain't that old. I've used the same SIM since my previous phone which was the Lumia 900. However, I'm willing to rule this out. I'm going to swap for a new one. Thanks for the suggestion.

I have had the same problem and I have tried a new SIM and a new 920...with a new SIM. Yesterday, I walked into the AT&T store by my house and showed the guy in the store that my phone was showing 5 bars E which is riding on someone else's network...not even AT&T's 3G network. He told me to contact technical support because it should definitely not be doing that. I can stand in one spot and watch my phone go from 5 bars E to no coverage to 2 bars 4G to no coverage. I really don't know what to do this with this any more since I tried a new SIM in my phone and I tried a new phone from AT&T and got the same problem with the new phone. I would return it and get my money back if they would take it but they only give you 14 days to do that. Also, have applied the latest updates and still happens. If I restart my phone, it seems to temporarily fix the problem but it eventually starts happening again. I really love my 920 as a WiFi device but it is the worst phone I have ever had.

I feel your pain. To be honest, I feel it has nothing to do with my SIM. It's the updates that causes this. I had something similar happen to my Lumia 900 and when I rolled back the bad updates all was good again. In WP8 however, I don't see a way to do a rollback so I'm stuck with this frustration. Yes I do have the latest updates which seem to be a bad move. Thanks for your input. Probably now they will notice this requires attention.

If you are still experiencing problems and have all the latest Nokia system app updates installed, your only options left are to hard reset your device (Settings > About > Reset your phone), which bear in mind will wipe all your data. Or if that does not resolve your issue, then you will need to take your phone back to your point of purchase, or if they are being less than helpful, take your phone to your local Nokia Care point: http://nokia.com/support
I appreciate your reply but that sounds like the standard "restart your computer" response. The truth is...the device has issues that Nokia needs to fix. A device reset is not going to solve anything...tried that. Replacing the device with a new one is also not going to fix the problem...tried that. I have personally had 4 of these devices (2 were mine,1 was my wife's and the other was my son's) in my home that I have put my hands on that are experiencing this problem. Very unimpressed with Nokia's quality control with these devices.

Well the advice given is standard practice like it or not and in most cases works sadly not for you.
Since you claim to have had 4 its possible they are from a bad batch,so your left with two options ,1 bring it back ,2 go to a nokia care point.
They were not all from the same batch. I ordered 3 phones at the same time...I will give you that those might be from the same batch. Then, after struggling with trying to make mine work (6 weeks), technical support sent me a new phone. That one had the exact same issues. I doubt you could chock it up as the replacement being from the same batch...unless the have a really large batch of bad phones. I will try to contact Nokia customer support but I am not holding out a lot of faith that anything will be resolved.

It's not only phydeauxman having the problem. I am also. An update fix is definitely needed and not a phone replacement.

Maybe Nokia will do like Apple did when they released the iPhone 4 and people had so many problems with the antenna placement in the phone....give out a free phone cover ![]()

I have also unfortunately experienced this problem, over the past week or two. Things have only recently started getting really bad - my service completely cuts out. I still 'appear' to have reception - be it 3G or 4G or HDSPA (I am in Australia), however - any network related feature seems to be broken.
This has started getting worse since the portico update, and I'm sure an update to the phone would be the best way to fix this issue. I really don't want to wipe my data (a huge inconvenience) so a phone reset is out of the options, however I will try replacing my SIM tomorrow.
I really hope Nokia get their game together. I almost threw my phone at the ground in frustration 5 times today.

Unfortunately, no one has even acknowledged that it is an issue. Wiping your phone is not going to help. And neither will replacing your SIM. I have done both multiple times and have even tried a new phone...but the issue persists. The only thing that I have seen that has helped at all is restarting the phone.
As soon as there are other (non-Nokia or HTC) Windows 8 Phones to choose from on AT&T...I am ditching the 920. Great device...horrible phone unless you are in an area that is saturated with LTE coverage.

Hi guys......I have the same problem too. I'm on the Telstra network in Australia btw. My phone can receive/make calls, then I'm suddenly off the air.
I've done a number of tests for this to attempt to determine is it the phone, or is it Telstra. I currently have my connection set to 4G. Today I had our home landline phone calling my Lumia which was showing anywhere between 2 - 5 bars of 3G or 4G connection, yet I couldn't call it. It went straight to voicemail.
Further, I can't call out to my home phone....just says Call Dropped (and the result for ANY other number).
So, whilst my phone is showing me that I'm connected, it's really dropped off the network. My personal opinion on this is that "something" happens when the phone auto-switches between connection speeds.
Question is...does my handset lose the connection, or does the carrier drop me ?
Anyone got any thoughts on an another test ? For exemple:-
The problem does resolve itself temporarily by turning off/turning on, but that is simply a workaround, and not a solution.
Does the problem lie with Telstra, Nokia, or even Microsoft ?

Andy, I have the black Lumia 920 in case you are wondering. In your case it sounds like hardware. However, I could be wrong. Nokia haven't chimed in yet! Terrible. This is probably my last Nokia phone. I bought the 900 and 920. Both are buggy as hell.
