Hi,
I bought this camera a week ago and saw small timy dust particles getting accumulated in the Front Side camera. I assume its entering through speaker slot.
Attached is the Iamge for the same. Bought this issue into Nokia and Att attention but both seems have valid answer for the same.
Sudheer.

I have the same issue with my Nokia Lumia 920 (white) i just boughted 2 weeks ago and it is kind of unacceptable at this point. It looks like a manufacturing issue. please fix this asap.I am planing to return it back to ATT.

Not an isolated issue. Same issue here as well, Nokia what is the solution?

my phone is 2weeks old and i am already dust in the front camera. Is it a defective piece or a design issue in lumia 920 phones ?

Same exact thing happening on my black Lumia 920. Although, on my model, it looks as though the screen and the top frame on the phone aren't molded together very tightly, and you can see where the dust particles are getting in.
I used an air duster on the crease between the screen and the edge and it actually cleared the dust out from under the lens.
I swear, I've had so many of these little issues, I have no idea why I have to be the first to get something. Maybe next time I'll let everyone else work the kinks out first lol I'm seriously tempted to return my Lumia for an Android phone or even...I hate to say this...an iPhone. The manufacturing quality of the iPhone is simply unmatched though...

Really? I suggest a visit to the apple forum, or the Samsung forum. The grass isn't any greener on the other side but we are not here to discuss roblems with other makes of phones. If you have an issue with your phone then do get it checked out at your local Nokia Care Point.
You can locate your nearest care point using the link below.

Well, I can only speak to my experience with the iPhone. My family and I have lived with about 10 iPhones over the past few years, and I have had more issues with my Lumia 920 then we ever had with all the iPhones combined.
The reason I mention the competition is this: I hope someone from Nokia reads this and does something about it. Nokia needs to step up their game. The Lumia 920 is their flagship phone and arguably the one device that can give Windows Phone 8 the momentum it needs to succeed. However, if more people have experiences similar to mine, Nokia is going to have a difficult time winning people over.
Front camera issues aside, other issues I have include:
Anyone else have similar complaints?
I want to love this phone Nokia! Stop making it so difficult to do so...

I also have this issue with my red Lumia 920. I don't want to return it just yet as I likely won't be able to get another red one with such low stock. Besides, I'm beyond the two-week exchange so I'll have to do a warranty replacement. Since it seems to be a widespread issue, getting another one of the initial production run will probably see the same problem. Nokia must know about this so I'll wait for later production and then do a warranty replacement.

Warranty replacement? After the 2 weeks exchange period I doubt very much they will give you a replacement, it will be more like a warranty repair. But I could be wrong depending on the practice in your country.

I have had my 920 for 30 days. About a week ago I experienced a problem when placing calls, after the calls were initiated the screen would lock (go black) and I could not access the keypad or hang up. It turns out that there was so much dust on the front facing camera that it tricked the light sensor into thinking that the phone was next to my face because it was dark. The end result being I could not actually use the phone to make calls.
I read online about blowing air into the ear piece to try to remove the dust, and that work for a couple days, but the dust is building back up and the problem returning.
We have two of these and the other phone's front camera is pristine, at least for now, time will tell.
I held both phones side-by-side and activated the front cameras and compared and (no real surprise) the quality of the image on the phone with the dusty lens was severely deteriorated compared to the phone with the sealed housing.
I called AT&T and they told me that Nokia had not informed them of the issue so there was no issue and it was my problem.
I called Nokia and was told that the only option was to send in the phone to a Nokia service center where they could affect repairs and send the phone back, at possible cost to me personally. Also, they would have my phone for 7-10 days so factor in transit time each way and I would be without my phone for 2 weeks or more. A loaner would not be provided. I asked that they call be escalated in the hopes of bringing the issue to the attention of Nokia and am waiting for a call back from some from a higher tier of tech support.
I work from home, the phone is either on my desk or in my front pants pocket.
The attached picture is a little blurry but you can clearly see that one of the phones has a lot of dust and the other is clean.

I know with iPhone the apple store just hands over a new iPhone right away. Out of warranty you can go to the corner smartphone shop and get repairs done for a few dollars. I can't imagine a policy like this. It may have to do with supply. The phones are in short supply.

I've got this issue as well. My 1st Lumia 920 was doing the proximity sensor thing where my screen would stay blank during a call even when I pulled it away from my face. I couldn't switch to speaker, input by keypad, or end a call. Extremely frustrating. I exchanged it at a Microsoft store and my new one is already showing dust in the lense. I carry only in my pocket and it lives in a clean environment. Not like I'm taknig this thing to a construction site every day...just sitting on my desk or dresser. I hope this one doesn't get to the proximity sensor problem again...that was annoying. Almost as annoying as having to set up my phone again and go through issues with Xbox music...the worst thing about the phone >=(

Wow, same problem happened to me so I sent in the FREAKING PHONE... about a little over a week I got back the phone and the dust was still there even though they told me they had REPLACED it... can't trust Nokia anymore, thought they were good but it's hard to say it

I think I have a fix to the dust problem.
If we are able to identify the reason of the problem then we can do find the solution.
We know that the dust mostly comes from 3.5 jack socket.
Then just put the 3.5 jack stopper into the jack socket and that's it. No more dust in your phone!
You can find some simple rubber stoppers on ebay.
