I have a 2012 Ford Focus with the latest My Ford Touch software (produced by Microsoft)
my Lumia 920 will connect with the system but when streaming music from an internet service or from a file on the device will have 1 second pauses every 5 seconds or so when streaming to the cars stereo. Has anyone else experienced a connection but one that starts and stops like this one?

Nokia Lumia 920 Finland. Bluetooth connected to BMW 520d 2011. VEry unpredictable. few
times auto connect works. After that no matter how manytimes I try to connect, doesnot work. Only solution in end is to remove the phone and start from beginning. This was not an issue with my 2.5 year old iphone 4.
Hopefully bugs get eliminated soon.

Does anyone know anything being done about it? It is very important feature that I am able to connect blue tooth to my car as here i can loose my license if i talk without handsfree. I wonder what the people were testing for over a month at nokia and why were no bugs discovered or corrected... I hope this gets corrected asap..... or I will have to go bag to I5... Was it wrong of me to depend on nokia????

Its already been twittered by a fairly reliable source that Microsoft will be releasing an upgrade to WP8 early in the 1st Qtr of 2013, when asked whether the would this fix the bluetooth issues, the reply was 'yes'.
So its pretty much confirmed that MS knows this is a WP8 problem, they have a fix in place, but won't be releasing the fix for at least a month.

The bluetooth on mine is working perfectly with everything I have paired it to so far, which is a fairly long list at this stage. I hope they don't mess this up when they issue the update to fix the bluetooth problem with the branded handsets. Hopefully they will know the exact cause of the problem since there are already versions of the Lumia 920 which do not have bluetooth problems.

Do you have a link to that reliable source? The latest "official" response I can find is this tweet, which says "We are currently looking into bluetooth functionality with car systems." I haven't seen anything about them having a fix, or including it in a release in 2013. If they have a fix they should roll it out immediately, not wait 4 months.

Hi, I had kind of the same problem with my lumia 920 trying to pair it with my wireless headsets. I contacted nokia care and they walked me through to reset the headset. Maybe you should try to contact them, they might have a solution for this issue. Hope it works.

New downloads? Did you receive an update? Thanks.

When connecting to my Nissan LEAF, I get the same lockup you are describing. However, it doesn't lock up as long - more like 2-3 minutes. This has happened 3 times so far today. I turn the power off on my car stereo once the lockup happens, to see if that makes the phone come back, but I haven't tried waiting and leaving the stereo on.
When the lockup happens the phone doesn't respond to the power button (even long hold). When it comes back I am sitting at the lock screen. I was using a Lumia 900 before in the car without issues.

I am not having phonebook issues, I do have control issues (can't skip songs), and metadata issues (no artist or title).
The handset & OS must be compatible with remote control since the JBL unit works to adjust volume and advance through songs.
I also have an HTC Arrive running WP7.5, which works perfectly fine with this head unit (Kenwood KDC-BT752HD) but ONLY after updating the firmware to a March release with unknown protocol capabilities (I could look them up but I'm tired). I will be calling Kenwood to push for an update.
There seems to be several camps of issues listed here. With a little bit of deduction we all should be able to see that most of these issues are related to the head unit's capabilities and not directly Nokia or Microsoft issues. If they can successfully correct the issue more power to them, but the Head unit manufacturer needs to correct this issue.

I miss spoke about the new downloads. The 920 phone book will not download to the 2013 Lexus RX350.
Only the last song playing on the 920 will play via bluetooth in the car, I can't select another song.

I have a Lumia 822. I have the same "crackle" when I make a call. I have it paired to a 2010 Nissan Murano

I have a Volvo XC60 (uses AVRCP version 1.3 and A2DP 1.2) and experience these Bluetooth issues:
- Phone or Music doesn't connect when I start the car or try to connect from the car. I have to often force the connection from the phone.
- At the end of some songs during streaming, a crackle is heard.
- The phone does not read the text messages even though I have the option turned on.
I did not experience these issues with my previous phone (Evo 3D) and this car.
