Hello friends....please can you help me in finding answers on following questions:
1) Is there any Desktop application for Lumia 920 to save phone contacts and other data on PC/note book. There was a desktop application for E-series though.
2) How can we transfer all data from E-Series (E-71 ) to Lumia 920..?
3) Is there any screen lock for Lumia 920?
Thank you

There's no PC backup facility for 920 - cloud based.
Transfer can be done via the transfer app on the 920. Or PC suite allows you to push E71 content to cloud,
Yes you can lock 920 screen

Thank you for useful reply. Actually I want to avoide using sky drive or cloud. So just wanted to tranfer from phone to phone. I hope secod application that you mentioned will be helpfu.
I am anxciously waiting for next mode of E-Series to avoid this expected pruchase of Lumina. There is a big difference of features in E-Series and Lumina....Let us see when E-series gets available......its' bee long time now...

There will be no more E-series phones. Symbian as an OS has been discontinued and Nokia only has three model lines now, the cheap dumphone 1xx series and featurephones Asha series based on S40 and Lumia smartphones based on Windows Phone.
The last Symbian phone made is the Nokia 808.
Using the cloud/internet is a prerequisite in using Windows Phone. Many of its features depend on it, one being sync of contact and calendar data to your Microsoft account.

Well yes, if you do not want to use internet on your phone Windows Phone is not for you.
I'd also suggest you delete your browsers and mailsoftware from your PC though. The chance of anything happening or creeping in through those sources is far, far greater. Actually I'd remove any computers from your home as the change of anyone breaking in and stealing your PC with all your personal data is, again, far greater then someone getting access to your Microsoft account data.
And while you are at it also do not get yourself any half decent or decent smartphone such as iPhones or Android devices. they too depend on the internet for their functionality. In fact I'd suggest you get yourself a Nokia 100 dumbphone since.. ehh wait there's internet there too.. damn..
And by the way.. I know a great tin foil hat retailer...

On your 920, go to the store, look at the Nokia Collection, find the app - Transfer My Data.
Use it to transfer data from your old phone.

Since the E71 does not support the PhoneBookAccessProfile this won't work really as I believe, but I could be wrong, the app requires this for contacts.
