I have had my Lumia for 10 days and for the second time it crashes during the night and the next morning I was not able to turn it on using the power button. I had to do a soft reset... The alarm that I set to wake me up never started... This means that I cannot trust my phone for waking me up in the morning! This is unacceptable!

It sure is unacceptable. Mine has been on continuously for over 3 weeks now with no hiccups. I suggest you send it to your local Nokia care point to get it checked out. You can locate your nearest care point using the link below.

What apps are you two running? Trying to figure out if an app is causing it...

Hi, i have had my 920 for 6 days and every morning i have to do a soft reset. It doesn't matter whether the phone is charging or not. I have already exchanged it once because of black screen when making calls. Does Nokia ever give any answers on the forums?

May i know where u from , I plan to buy 920 , if this problem can't soft , it wil really stop me to support nokia .
This is an isolated incident and probably due to faulty hardware or bad apps. My Lumia 920 along with most other 920's have never frozen in the middle of the night.

i have the same problem with you. it happened this morning when i couldn't turn on my L920. this is my 12th day of using it. i went to nokia care here in hong kong today, and the best solution they could give me (with her unhelpful attitude at all) was flash the software which means deleting all my datas. and she couldnt even guarantee that this will resolve the problem.
apparently there are lots of other people experiencing the same problem. check this out,
this is really unacceptable!

There is a possible alternative to the flashing or reset suggestet by the care point.
As the problem only started recently, there is a high probability that it is caused by a bad app or setting or the combination of the two. The alternative is to reverse whatever apps you installed or settings you changed just before this problem started.
The flashing is just an easy way out because it reverts the phone back to its out of the box condition. However, you may find yourself in the same situation again should you install the same app or make the same setting changes after the flashing.
I had a similar problem with one app but I managed to isolate it and the problem disappeared after I uninstalled the app. The app was pulled subsequently and updated by the developer and is now working fine on my phone.

Had same problem. I "soft reset" which doesn't restore to factory. Everything was there. Hold power and volume buttons down together for a few seconds.

I have the same problem ![]()
I bought my Lumia 920 20 days ago. But after a few days of buy it, my phone crashes during the night (every day). At the next morning I need to do a Soft-Reset to be able to use it again. I thought it was due to WP8 error that would be solved with the next update, but I'm sick of this.
What's should I do? Wait for the February's update or send it to a Nokia Care point?

I also have this problem right now. It happened three times already. I got the phone last December 28, if my memory serves me right. It goes dead and I am really saddened that the alarm does not go off when I need it most. I have ruled out the wireless charger as the culprit, same with the software update. The Nokia Care Specialist advised me to do a hard reset. Tomorrow, if I find the phone dead, I might have to do it. I want to keep the phone.
Hope this gets fixed soon.

I had a 920 freeze on me and would not take a charge aftedr the soft boot.
AT&T advised return to store and exchange for a new one. I did. Last night the new one frooze on me.
This is NOT isolated.

Yes and no. Yes, it has been known to happen to AT&T branded handsets, and No, it has never happened to my unbranded handset which I have been using for 3 months.
It would be speculation to suggest the cause but does seem like it seems to happen to certain versions only. Do you know if yours has been updated with the Portico update yet?

Hi,
Just to add insult to injury. I llove the Nokia brand and I would love to be a part of their new resurgence but I bought a 920 6 days ago and I've missed a meeting and overslept twice and missed several phone calls. It must have crashed more than 10 times in the 5 days.Everytime you perform a soft reset the time returns to default and will not automatically adjust and the missed calls go to the bottom of the list. I charge the phone overnight with the supplied cable and not a wireless charger. I cannot live with this phone and I am just about to cancel the contract and return it.
Sorry Nokia
