I have a Lumia 920 and i bought a sim card with Internet and phone service in Mexico on Telcel.
I know that i succesfully shared my internet connection in Canada on Rogers with this phone.
I know my APN is correct and i have good signal. My internet works with my Telcel sim.
My max connection is selected as 3G and i rebooted the phone...
When I select share my connection, i tries then i get a message saying that i have no internet conneciton and i should check my signal.
I know the sim works in an Iphone 4 and it succesfully shares the connection with the non-jailbroken iphone 4.
What can i do?
Thanks for your replies and your help.

Hi Rich001,
So you mean to say that your Lumia 920 was originally from Rogers Canada? I ask this because sometimes when the phone was unlocked by the carrier, there's a big possibility that you will be unable to use some of its features such as internet sharing with other SIM (Service provider).

Is there any plans for these issues to be addressed? The Lumia is a pentaband phone and should not be having these issues.
I have never once in my life had issues using an unlocked phone on other carriers unless the phone did not have the correct frequency bands.
I am using the lumia on telus and i cannot recieve MMS or tether data.
Also i stumbled on this information in the XDA forums: ****link removed****
Im not sure if you have the athority to send this to the developers at Nokia, but perhaps giving them a heads up would help them deal with this issue.
I really love my Lumia despite these problems, but they are starting to damage my user experience with the phone.

Some operators block the option to change apn settings on their handsets even though they may be unlocked. This is not something Nokia can change. The software on all operator variants are modified and localised by each operator before release. One of the downsides of purchasing an operator branded handset. Payback for the subsidy they give you on the phone. You will need to contact Rogers regarding this.

I have a 920 from Rogers and reside in Trinidad, Caribbean. The internet sharing too wasn't working until recently when Nokia updated the network settings on the phone. I will try to get the link that I used to get the Nokia update. Its one of those Nokia specific app that integrates with the windows phone 8 settings.
