Lumia 920 loosing connection to Telenor in Denmark

Hello.

I have had my lumia for about 3 weeks, and several times i have experiensed that it sayes "no service" - Unable to call or SMS - Don't know if its a Telenor problem or a Nokia problem. Somtimes it just returns, some times i have to restart the phone to get service back. One of my colleagues just reported, that he has the same problem.

Any idears   ?

Well indeed its either the phone or the network. Does the sim work in another phone without errors? You could alternatively bring device back to store and have them look into it.

If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

Re: Lumia 920 loosing connection to Telenor in Denmark

The Sim card has been working fine in my Lumia 800 - I think maybe it's at problem with the Lumia 920 on Telenors network in Denmark.

Anyone else have this problem ?

Re: Lumia 920 loosing connection to Telenor in Denmark

I've had the same problem on AT&T in the U.S.  I love my 920, but for the past two weeks, it has basically been an unconnected device once I leave home.  For some reason, if it can't receive an LTE signal, rather than falling back to 4G or 3G, it just shows the "no signal" symbol.  And even if it shows 3-4 bars of LTE, once you try to use the device to make a call or access the web, the bars disappear and turn into the "no signal" symbol.  My friends (all of whom own iPhones) are excited to see the 920, and even talk about switching from the iPhone, but then when I try to use it to show off some features, it's incredibly embarrassing when it can't even access the network.  After two factory reset & rebuilds, and hours and hours with customer service people on the phone and in AT&T stores, they concluded that it must be a faulty SIM card reader, so they are sending a replacement device by mail.  I'm not crazy about having to rebuild my phone for a third time, but I also need cell service, so I'm hoping it was just the SIM reader and not a systemic problem with the 920.  I'll report back when I get the new device.

I am chronically having this same problem...and I have replaced my SIM (which was brand new to start with) AND I have had AT&T send me a replacement phone.  The replacement had the same issue.  I find if I restart the phone it fixes the problem for a little while but it eventually starts having the problem again.  I am starting to have flash backs to the issue Apple had with the antenna on the iPhone 4...where they solved the problem by giving everyone a free phone case.  I really like the 920 as a WiFi device but it is the worst phone I have ever owned.  This is the first Nokia phone I have owned but if they don't find some way to fix this problem, it is going to be the last.

Re: Lumia 920 loosing connection to Telenor in Denmark

I have seen the same problem.

I called Telenor and they said that I should set the "highest connection speed" to 3G from 4G since 4G is not ready yet.

I tried with the 3G and that did not work!

I then changed it to 2G and rebooted the phone and now it works.

Re: Lumia 920 loosing connection to Telenor in Denmark

Following up on my original post.  I received a replacement 920, and the reception problem is completely resolved.  :smileyhappy: The new device gets LTE everywhere, and the battery lasts about 3x longer.  Apparently the first device just had a hardware problem.  The AT&T technician thought it might have something to do with the SIM card reader, though I'm not sure why a SIM card problem would result in good reception in some places and no reception in others.  In any event, now I can show it off to my friends and family without the embarrassment of having no reception.

Re: Lumia 920 loosing connection to Telenor in Denmark

I have been using Lumia 920 on Telenor Denmark since early December, no problems at all, I would get my phone checked for hardware errors. I use the same SIM card I used in my iPhone 4S.
