Lumia 920's clear black isn't that black?

Does anybody notice that? If you put Lumia 920 and 900 side by side, hit up bing if you wanna see solid color prove, although on 920 the picture's resolution is definitley better, color wise 900 is way more vivid in general, the color is brighter, and black is definitely more black than in 920.

see for yourself, use bing so both phones carry the same picture.

just for info, I tried lumia 920 at both Low and Medium brightness, while 900 was at low the whole time, the low will beat 920's low and medium in a row!

what's going on with that, should they make the black 'blacker', thats the reason for clear black is it? so the black pixel would save energy from the light ones.

First of all Nokia clear back display is all about better display visibility at outdoors so don't confuse it with the ability to display black colors more black or whatever.... and Lumia 900 has AMOLED display type and technically amoled displays seem to display vivid colors, black colors more blacker, slightly inferior white colors etc compare to LCD IPS display....however colors do look more natural on lcd display than amoled display.... so Lumia 920 display in terms of colors and black color in particular would look different than the 900 display.

Thanks, I didn't know they have different display on 920 thats what make them different I see that.

I just point out the term 'different' that you use do not suggest which one is prettier, sense of pretty is subjective, and I'm simply asking user of both phones compare them side by side see for themselves for their own justification.

I just happen to think pictures in 900 looks more of eye candies, tell me I'm wrong

yes it looks more eye-candyish because it is using an AMOLED display as Donofworld has stated. And for exmaple, Samsung Galaxy SIII's displays look even more eye-candyish because they are using AMOLED displays and prefer more saturated colours (less realistic, but more pleasing to the eye)

Also consider that AMOLED displays only light up individual pixels and don't use a backlight to illuminate the entire screen. That's why blacks look blacker than on an LCD screen which does use a backlight.

which lead to explain very clearly why my 900's battery last twice longer then 920 - most the time only part of the screen is being light up while the unnecessary ones don't
