Please nokia add an orientation lock to the Lumia range. If Microsoft is too short sighted to add it then develop it yourself and make it Lumia exclusive.

Could already be appled upon developer unlocked Windows Phone 7.5 device, but don't know whether Windows Phone OS architecture would preclude it's implementation.

Unfortunately that option does not work on the Lumia 920 as reported by the author. Its such a simple feature which should be supported out of the box.

It is up to developers to enable orientation freedom to end users for example there are number of apps like twitter etc which can be used in landscape and portrait mode and also some default os apps like internet explorer etc also have that facility.

i understand that developers can impliment a lock in either portrait or landscape but I would like a system wide lock. when i use the phone in bed or when lounging around and i try to read a test message and it rotates the acreen it makes it hard to read. very annoying. IOS and Android both have this aimple feature so i am sure you understand what i mean.

Nokia please orientation lock while using a phone is a very simple update yet very necessary. Please include orientation lock or I'm back to android

Developers are not allowed to control system wide settings in WP8, not even Nokia so it's better to direct your suggestion to Microsoft.
