Lumia 820 been using this since Christmas with no problems. Last night while out shopping I picked phone out of my pocket and it was prompting me to set a security code saying my security settings had changed. I was unable to just cancel or reverse this as it seemed set on continuing to set a code so I set 4 digits to just get me able to use the phone. I assumed I had accidentally clicked something while it was in my pocket so I then searched how to remove the lock code as I didnt really want that feature enabled and it seems you can only remove it by doing a Hard Reset.
Hard Reset 1 done last night, and in the setup procedure from scratch I opted to restore from back up, that seemed to go ok apart from the lock code was stil in place when I restored so figured it had saved that setting.
Hard Reset 2 today, set it up as a "new phone". All went well, I had logged into my stuff, downloaded all my apps, set them onto live screen, resized and saved where I wanted, probably over an hour getting everything back to where I wanted. I then went to set up my 2 gmail accounts and 1 calendar, 2 gmail accounts set ok, but then just as I turned my calendar setting on to import from my gmail calendar the security code thing appeared again saying my security profile had changed and set a code. I cannot say NO, it might have been a co incidence it just happening as I was adding my calendar, but this is the same calendar I have had in use since xmas.
Can someone explain how I can NOT set the security code to come on, or how I can disable whatever automated thing is making that happen, or even let me know why my security profile apparently changed at random times without me knowing about it. I am holding off from another Hard reset until I know what causes this problem and how to stop it happening again.

Hi, Thanks for trying. I had found that option and tried to turn it off, but the Password is set to ON and is greyed out so i cant turn it off. It only offers me the option to change the password in there.
Interesting development, I went and deleted the last Gmail account I had added, and then went back to the password screen and it then said my security policy had changed and allowed me to turn the password off. Its looking now like its the Gmail account itself forcing the security policy to add a unlock code on the phone. Does anyone know if thats something I have setup or something that maybe changed in Googles mail system recently as I have had this gmail account on the phone since xmas and this only started happening 2 days ago.
