Message delays - Facebook and Whatsapp - Lumia 920

Incoming messages from Facebook and/or whatsapp are frequently delayed, sometimes by a stretch of hours.

 

An additional issue is that at times whatsapp says I've received a message (notifies at the top) but when I actually reach the message window, it is either not there or I have to wait some time before it appears.

 

Is this an issue I can resolve somehow?

 

The battery life has improved somewhat, but as a fairly moderate user, I can barely get 8 hours...maybe my phone is defective?

Its the apps not your phone and its known,and this is been worked on.
